Integration with other modules is a critical aspect of SAP Extended Warehouse

Management (EWM) to ensure seamless data flow and process integration across the
supply chain. Here's how EWM integrates with key SAP modules:

1. Materials Management (MM):

 EWM integrates with SAP MM for procurement and inventory
management. When goods are received in EWM, the system updates
the material documents in MM, reflecting the receipt of goods and
updating inventory levels.
 Additionally, EWM can trigger procurement processes in MM based on
demand signals, such as when stock levels in EWM fall below
predefined thresholds.
2. Sales and Distribution (SD):
 Integration with SAP SD enables EWM to fulfill customer orders
efficiently. When sales orders are created in SD, EWM receives the
order data and initiates picking, packing, and shipping processes to
fulfill the orders.
 EWM also updates SD with shipping information, tracking numbers,
and delivery status, providing visibility into order fulfillment for
customers and stakeholders.
3. Production Planning (PP):
 EWM integrates with SAP PP for production-related activities. It
manages the storage and handling of materials needed for production,
such as raw materials, components, and semi-finished goods.
 EWM can receive production orders from PP and prepare the required
materials for production, ensuring that materials are available at the
right time and place for manufacturing operations.
4. Quality Management (QM):
 Integration with SAP QM enables EWM to manage quality inspections
and control quality-related processes within the warehouse. EWM can
trigger quality inspections based on predefined criteria, such as
incoming goods inspections or batch-specific checks.
 Inspection results and quality information recorded in EWM are
synchronized with QM, providing a comprehensive view of product
quality and compliance.
5. Financial Accounting (FI) and Controlling (CO):
 EWM integrates with SAP FI and CO for financial accounting and cost
management purposes. It captures relevant cost data related to
warehouse operations, such as storage costs, handling costs, and
transportation costs.
 Cost data from EWM can be transferred to FI and CO modules for
budgeting, cost allocation, and financial reporting, helping
organizations track and analyze warehouse-related expenses.
6. Human Capital Management (HCM):
 While not directly related to warehouse operations, integration with
SAP HCM ensures that employee data, such as labor resources, skills,
and work schedules, is synchronized with EWM. This information is
used for workforce planning, resource allocation, and labor
management within the warehouse.

Overall, integration with these SAP modules allows EWM to function as an integral
part of the end-to-end supply chain, streamlining processes, improving efficiency,
and providing real-time visibility and control over warehouse operations and
