Kantro is a small town made up of three communities: Kantro number 1, Kantro number 2, and Kantro number 3.

The total population of Kantro is 3457, with community one accounting for 70

As our group's focus area is Kantro number three, we engaged with stakeholders to understand why they have been
without access to electricity for such a long time. Their response was that there have been no government
interventions to electrify the community.

In addition to the lack of electricity, the community has a basic school, CHBPS (Community Health Base Planning
System) compound, a church, and five poultry farms. One of the poultry farm owners has installed a solar PV system
to provide electricity for the farm. Community members visit the farm to charge their mobile phones, while others
travel to Fiapre, which is 5km from Kantro.

The majority of the community members are farmers who live in Fiapre but visit Kantro on Fridays to work on their
farms. Their need for electricity is to enhance visibility duringthe night and assist in grinding cereals and maize. The
main devices used in the community are mobile phones and rechargeable lamps.
