II. Defend your answer.

1. Do you think there is a necessity for the passage of SOGIE Bill? If YES, why? If NO, explain. (5)
YES, individuals often face discrimination in various aspects of life including education or employment,
SOGIE BILL is a step towards creating better community and it is a matter of discussion in promoting
inclusivity, respect, and equality to individuals regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity.

2. There is an on-going discussion regarding women joining ROTC and categorizing it to be mandatory –
are you in favor? Explain your answer. (5)
NO, ROTC can be a choice but should not be mandatory to women since if we look into most important
issues of our country, we should give more importance to women to be able to have economic
knowledge and education in order to contribute in country’s economy such as healthcare or education
and not women engaging or preparing themselves to a war.

3. In the case pertaining to Reproductive-Health Law, what is its relevance to the protection of gender and
society in general? (10)
Reproductive health laws promote gender equality by ensuring that individuals of all genders have
equal access to reproductive healthcare services, including family planning and maternal care. It
supports social and economic development by allowing individuals and families to plan for their
futures, pursue education and careers, and contribute to their communities.

4. Cite at least one law that protects gender-based discrimination and explain its purpose. (5)
RA 9262, also known as An Act Defining Violence Against Women and Their Children, Providing
Protective Measures for Victims, Prescribing Penalties Therefor, and for Other Purposes, is to safeguard
the family and its members, especially women and children, from violence and other threats to their
personal safety.
