An athlete winning the first gold medal for country in International World Games

(IWG) 11
Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen, my name is Celine and I am honored as the Vice
President of the Sport Committee. Today I am beyond happy to announce that our gifted
athlete, Ms. Phuong Anh has won the first gold medal for Vietnam in swimming in the
International World Games 11. It is not only an honor to all the athletes themselves but also
to our country as well. It gives me great pleasure to stand here today and show my
appreciation to her. I have had the chance to observe her improvement through the years.
The first time I met her, she was still a young girl who wanted to mark her name in the hall of
fame, and I have a sense that she could make it.
We had been through a hard time two years ago, when the world had been in isolation due
to the Covid-19 and all the training had been delayed. I thought that this condition would
make some of you lose your spirit and motivation to participate in the training and even the
ambition to attend the competitions. But Ms Phuong Anh has changed my mind. When we
started training again, she was the first person to show up and the last person to leave the
pool. I have no doubt that she absolutely deserves the medal she was awarded today. The
International World Games is only the beginning and I believe that in the near future, she will
mark her name on the gold medal of the Olympic. Congratulations again, Miss Phuong Anh.
Thank you for your hardworking and I am looking forward to seeing your growth in the future.
