Drawing in the auxiliary selvedge
a
The auxiliary selvedge, which is controlled via the
shafts of the selvedge unit, should interlace in 1/1
weave.
As a rule, two ends per dent space are drawn into the
auxiliary selvedge reed.
Since provision is made for 16 ends in each auxiliary
selvedge, drawing-in of the auxiliary selvedge ends
must be started at the outermost dent space of the
auxiliary reed.
Distance a between the edge of the fabric and the
auxiliary selvedge must be approx. 10 mm when we-
aving without an auxiliary reed.
Thread tensioning:
– Fit brake band 9 so that the yarn tension of the au-
10 xiliary selvedge is as high as possible, there is no
recoiling fell and the weft thread is properly clam-
ped.
– Select the working point 10 of the tension spring
7 so that the yarn tension remains constant from full
to empty auxiliary selvedge roller.

using a draw-off cone
The draw-off force of the cone is adjusted by tigh-
tening or slackening off the screw 11.
11 Draw-off force
The draw-off cone is driven via a friction surface. The
drawing force of the cone is adjusted by turning the
self-locking screw 11. Turning the screw clockwise in-
creases the drawing force, turning anti-clockwise re-
duces the force.
