HOW TO WRITE A REPORT
Sample:
The graph below shows the consumption of fish and some different kinds of meat in
a European country between 1979 and 2004.

The line graph illustrates how much fish and some other kinds of meat were
eaten in a country in Europe from 1979 to 2004.
Overall, despite some fluctuations, there was a considerable increase in the
amount of chicken consumed, as opposed to a constant drop in the figures for
beef, lamb and fish. Furthermore, chicken was the most favored food item at
the end of the period.
Evidently, the amount of beef eaten stood at the highest point at 220 grams per
person per week in 1979, after which it experienced an ever-decreasing trend
to reach 100 grams in the final year. Conversely, the intake of chicken rose
from around 150 grams to north of 200 grams in 1989 before jumping to
surpass beef to be food’s top preference at 250 grams in 2004.
Approximately 150 grams of lamb was used by an average person in the
country examined in 1979, with a decline (a twofold decrease) to 75 grams in
2004. Meanwhile, after a slight fall from 60 grams to just under 50 grams after
a few years, the figure for fish leveled off towards the end of the surveyed
period, making it the least common type of food in the country mentioned.
