Procedures:
1-Tell the students to read the first instruction on SB48. Say that Noor is the girl holding a camera and
her friend is called Halla.

2-Play the audio (track 52). Tell the students to listen to the audio and answer the question How many
sisters has Noor got?

3- Introduce AB72 Ex A. Ask the students to read the instructions and look back at SB48 to see which of
the answers can fill in.

4-Tell the students to read the conversation on SB48 and use the pictures and context to work out the
meaning of the underlined words.

5- Introduce AB73 Ex E. Remind the students how to form the present perfect continuous tense, then
tell them to do the exercise.

Objectives:
1-Read short films reviews.
2-Identify adverbs that intensify adjectives.

Procedures:
1-Elcit the meaning of review. Tell the students to read the reviews, then discuss with a partner, which
film they like and why.

2-Elcit the word in bold in the first review, incredibly. Ask the students what effect it has on the
adjective funny. Then explain it to the class.

3-Play the audio (track 54). Tell the students to listen to the conversation and find out which of the
three films the boys decide to see.

4-Tell the students to read the language box in the SB and answer the questions.

5-Introduce AB74 Ex B. Tell the students to draw lines to link the sentence parts. Check the exercise by
asking individuals to read out a sentence.

6-Introduce AB74 Ex C. Tell the students to make invitations, offers and promises for each situation.
Check the exercise by asking individuals to read out a sentence.

Objectives:
1-Listen to a conversation for specific information.

Procedures:
1-Tell the students to match the pictures with the words, then ask them which of the items they think
would be a good birthday present.

2- Play the audio (track 58). Tell the students to listen to the conversation and find out which of the
items is not mentioned in the discussion.

3-Tell the students to read the rule in the language box and elicit the full form of the contractions I'll (I
will) won't (will not). Then ask them to find examples in the conversation.

4- Introduce AB78 Ex B. Tell the students to complete the sentences using will or will not with infinitive
of the verb.

5- Introduce AB78 Ex C. Remind the students that when we speak, we usually use the contracted forms.
Play the audio (track 60) and tell the students to listen and repeat the sentences.

Objectives:

Procedures:
1-Tell the students that a family is preparing a party and has made a list of things to do. Tell them
to match the items with the pictures.
2-Tell the students to read the rules and the examples in the language box. Elicit other examples of things
you are likely to ask someone to do for you rather than do it yourself.

3- Introduce AB79 Ex A. Tell the students to read the exchanges and complete them with words from the
box. Then play the audio (track 61) for the students to check their answers.

4-Tell the students to complete the sentences, referring back to exercise A for Exercise B, and using get or
have with the verb for Exercise C.

Objectives:
1-Read a magazine article for information.

Procedures:
1-Ask the students to talk about the picture and if they have been to wedding ceremonies and what they
were like.

2- Introduce AB81 Ex A. Tell the students to match the words in the book with their definitions.

3-Tell the students to read the first sentence of paragraph 1 and tell us what they think the first paragraph
will be about. Do the same thing with the other paragraphs.

4- Introduce AB82 Ex D. Tell the students to read the language box, then answer the questions. Point out
that the determiner comes before nouns.

5-Ask What happens at weddings in Iraq? Write any new key words on the board, then invite the students
to write a draft about wedding costumes and improved it later on at home.

Objectives:
Listen to conversation and take notes.
Procedures:
1-Tell the students that they are going to hear an Irish university student in London talking to an Iraqi
student about welcome home week. Ask them what they think might happen during this week.
2-Tell the students how to pronounce Niall and Maeve. Explain that many Irish names are spelt
differently from English ones because they come from Gaelic, the original Irish language.
3- Introduce AB83 Ex A. Play the audio (Track 62) and tell the students to listen to the dialogue and
complete the table.
4-Tell the students to read the rules and examples in the language box. Demonstrate on the board how to
form the future continuous tense, then ask the students to find examples in the dialogue.
5- Introduce AB83 Ex C. Tell the students to complete the paragraph with the future continuous forms of
the verbs in brackets.

pictures and try to work it out.

2-Introduce AB84 Ex A. Tell the students to read the extract from the guidebook and answer
the questions.

3-Play the audio (track 63) and tell the students to listen to the interview and say whether they
think Hadi like his job or not. Tell them to work this out from Hadi's tone of voice.

4- Introduce AB84 Ex B. Tell the students to read the exercise quickly. Then tell them to listen
to the interview (track 64) and write answers.

5-Tell the students to work in pairs and do the vocabulary task on SB55.

4-Explain (on the board) with examples how to form the reported speech. Focus on the changes in
