DESHABHIMANI

Deshabhimani is a Malayalam Newspaper and the organ of the Kerala State


Committee of the Communist Party of India. It started as a weekly in Calicut on
6 September 1942 and converted to a daily in 1946.The paper now has ten
differentprintingcentres: Calicut, Cochin, Trivandrum, Kannur,Kottayam, Trich
ur, Palakkad, Alappuzha, Kollam and Malappuram. At present, Puthalath
Dinesan State Secretariat Member of the CPI (M) is the Chief Editor of the
paper, K.J. Thomas, CPI(M), secretariat member of the CPI(M), the General
Manager and V. B Parameshwaran, the Resident Editor. Deshabhimani is
the third-largest Malayalam language newspaper by circulation. As of Indian
Readership Survey of 2010, it was also in the third position in terms of
readership in Kerala, after Malayala Manorama and Mathrubhumi.

The Deshabhimani Printing and Publishing House Limited is a Non-govt


company, incorporated on 16 Oct, 1947. It's a public unlisted company and is
classified as 'company limited by shares'. Company's authorized capital stands
at Rs 15.0 lakhs and has 65.100006% paid-up capital which is Rs 9.77 lakhs.

WORKING SCHEDULE:

Deshabhimani is 24/7 available to the public. Works and workers are divided
into different sections and there are around 110 employees working on these
sections.

 Reporting starts from 10am and ends at midnight.

 Editorial begins at 4 in the morning to 4 in the evening.

 Printing commence at 10pm.

 Cleaning and dispatch is done around 9 in the morning.

 Duration of the office is from 10 am to 6 pm.

 Moreover reception and security services are available 24 hours.


PRODUCTION:

 Total production of newspapers per day is around 80,000 copies.


 Production per hour is 30,000 copies.
 Production cost per paper is more than Rs. 8
 Out of total workers only 12 workers are employeed in the press.
NEWSPAPER PRINTING:

 A newspaper contains 20 pages, in which 12 pages are printed in colour


and 8 pages in black and white.
 Mainly 4 colours are used to print – Cyan, Magenta, Black and Yellow
