Calibration – Airway pressure manometer – Check for zero.

Calibration – Airway pressure manometer – (reinstall bezel) Recheck for zero.

Calibration – Inspiratory flowrate – (Mark 7) Check that flow through orificed adapter registers between
18-24 cmH2O on manometer.

Calibration – Inspiratory flowrate – (Mark 7) Check that airway manometer now registers greater than
34 cmH2O.

Calibration – Inspiratory flowrate – (Mark 7A) Check that flow through orificed adapter registers
between 14-18 cmH2O on manometer.

Calibration – Inspiratory flowrate – (Mark 7A) Check that airway manometer now registers greater than
30 cmH2O.

Calibration – Inspiratory power driveline – Check that the pressure on the test gauge reads between 12-
25 psig.

Calibration – Pressure-cycled limit control – Check that the pressure limit on manometer is 20cmH2O.

Calibration – Starting effort (sensitivity) – Recheck for a -2cmH2O with a gentle inspiratory effort.

Calibration – Ceramic switch “chatter test” – Check that the unit “chatters” at an even rhythm.

Calibration – Mark 7A – Apneustic flowtime – Recheck for a 3 second APNEUSTIC FLOWTIME with the
control knob full counter-clockwise and less than .5 second delay in the clockwise position.

Calibration – Controlled expiratory time – Check that respirator does not cycle automatically and the
unit remains in the “OFF” position for a minimum of 3 minutes.

Calibration – Controlled expiratory time – Apply Lubewick to O-ring on retention cap.

Calibration – Controlled expiratory time – Recheck for 3.0 seconds (+/- 0.5 sec.) expiratory time.

Calibration – Controlled expiratory time – Check for an expiratory time of between 0.5-1.0 seconds.

Calibration – Pressure relief valve – Check that manometer needle registers 30 cmH2O.
