OPERATING PROCEDURE FOR COMPRESSOR (INSTRUMENT & SERVICE)

 Check and ensure the oil level in the air – oil separator tank. It should be
50%.
 Check compressor outlet moisture float valve cleanliness.
 Ensure that the pressure gauge & safety valve of air receiver tank are in
good condition.
 Check compressor outlet air line valve is in open condition and standby
compressor outlet air line valve should be in closed condition.
 Check compressor for any oil leakages.
 Check and confirm the healthiness of electrical feeders and control
circuits.
 Check element temperature is being displayed in the control panel.
 Check and ensure emergency push button is in released condition.
 Kindly check the display unit is free of any warnings and trip signals. If
any, attend the same.
 Start the compressor by pressing the ON push button in the control panel.
 Check for any abnormalities in motor and air end unit.
 Check oil and air line for any leakages after starting the compressor. If
any leakage found, immediately attend or stop the compressor.
 Observe the cooling fan is operating in auto mode as per the temperature
set points.
 Observe compressor is loading and unloading with respect to the pressure
set point.
 Check auto drain valve of compressor and air receiver tank is in working
condition.
 Check air line pre and fine filter conditions. Replace if required as per the
gauge indication in the filters (Green indication = clean, Red indication =
replace).
 Check for the refrigerant quantity in the drier and if the refrigerant
quantity is satisfactory, switch on the drier.
 Now charge the receiver tank. The drain valve of the receiver shall be
opened to remove the moisture from tank. Once the moisture is removed,
then close the valve and check for the air pressure in the receiver. Once
our operating pressure (6 kg/cm 2) is achieved, and then charge the
instrument air line for individual packages.
