1. Engine Room Specification

1.1. Main Engine

The ME drives directly fixed pitch propeller. The ME can run on DO or HFO during
manoeuvring.

The technical data for the ME simulated in LER3D is given below:

Type: 2 stroke, non-reversible with turbo-charger

Nominal power 15820 kW
Nominal RPM 110 rpm
Number of cylinders 7
Cylinder Bore/stroke 600/2400 mm

ME is equipped with turning gear and is started with compressed air system.
The ME mimic diagrams, displays and controls have been divided into software windows
and consoles, each of which includes specific controls and gauges.

1.2. Engine Room Control Station (ECS)

Engine Room Control Station is the manoeuvre station in the control room. ECS is a unit that
has several functions. It is a control station for operation of the Main Engine remote control
system.

ECS control station contains the following components:

Control lever for engine speed demand

Engine telegraph
Gauges with display of Main Engine parameters
Main Engine indication panel
Main Engine safety system

1.3. Local Control Station (LCS)

Engine Local Control Station is the manoeuvre station on the engine. It is a control station
for emergency operation of Main Engine when the remote control system is damaged.

LCS contains the following components:

Main Engine control panel with levers and switches

Main Engine indication panel
Local Engien Telegraph

1.4. Bridge Control Station (BCS)

Bridge Control Station is the manoeuvre station on the bridge. BCS is a unit that has several
functions. It is a control station for operation of the Main Engine remote control system and
steering gear pumps.

BCS control station contains the following components:

Engine telegraph
Gauges with display of Main Engine parameters
Main Engine alarm panel
Control position indication panel
