Workday - #HUB User Guide

Workday Navigation

Within the Home page of Workday, you will have the following options:
- Navigation Menu- This displays your Applications and allows you to navigate to any application
from any screen within Workday. You can also setup Shortcuts if you use certain reports or tasks
frequently.
- Harris Logo - Redirects you to the Workday Home Page from any screen in Workday.
- The Search Bar- Enables you to search for Hub articles.
- Workday Assistant- When you click on the Workday Assistant a menu appears with difference
options to help you navigate Workday and accomplish certain tasks.
- Notification Bell- Information related to processes in Workday are sent here. Most notifications
will be forwarded to your outlook inbox. Options to turn this on or off can be updated using the
Change Preferences task
- Inbox- The Inbox is your personal activity stream. It includes Tasks (such as Approvals and To
Dos) that require your action as part of business processes.
- User Profile- This icon allows you to view your profile and update your user preferences, such as
default language.

Search Bar
You must configure your search preferences in order to search for Hub Articles. To configure your
search:
1. Enter keywords into the search bar and hit Enter.
2. Click Configure Search on the bottom left side of the page.
3. Drag Learning into the Saved Categories area and click Save.
4. You can now search for articles by name or keywords using the top search bar. For more
advanced search options, please see the Browse Learning section.

#HUB
To Navigate to the #Hub page, select the page under the Navigation Menu of Workday.

The #Hub Dashboard allows you to view all Hub Articles by Topic and displays the Top Rated, Top
Viewed, and Most Recent Articles.

View Courses By #Hub Topic


To view all courses for a specific topic, click on the desired Topic button. All articles for the desired topic
display.

From here you can use the center search to look for a specific article within the topic or use the left filter
panel to filter the topic by language. You can also setup Saved Search filters for frequently used filter
criteria.

Save Search Filter

To save a search filter, enter the filter criteria in the left Filter area and click the Save button. The Saved
Search Filter is saved under the Saved Searches area of the screen.

Open a #HUB Article


Once you have found the desired article:
1. Click on it from the catalogue to open it.

2. Click Start Course


3. Click Open PDF to view the content. You can download the article or read it online. Once you
close the PDF, the article status is updated to Complete.

4. Optionally, some articles have more than one item to them. To view the additional items, click
Next Lesson or select the item on the right panel.

Note: Articles can also include embedded videos, documents (PowerPoints, excel), and external
links to additional resources.

5. Click the Back arrow to go back to the main page of the article.

Learning
You can also view #HUB articles as well as other courses from the Learning page.

Discover
The Discover page now includes a #HUB slider to display all #HUB Articles.

Browse Learning – Search for #HUB Articles


To find courses, select the Discover page.

You can click the Browse Learning button from the Explore the Learning Catalog area or Browse Topics
to view all articles based on topic.

Browse Learning
When you click Browse Learning, Workday will take you to a list of all learning content including courses
and #HUB articles.

From here you can do the following:


- Search Bar – Allows you to search for articles based on key words.
- Filter Articles – Use the left pane to filter the article list. Once you have setup your desired
filters, you can click Save to save the filter. You can filter courses based on:
o Language – Filter articles based on their language
o Rating– Filter articles based on their rating in Workday Learn

- Saved Filters – Displays all filters you have saved in the Learning Catalog. This will allow you to
quickly filter courses.

Browse Topics

When you click Browse Topics, Workday displays all learning topics you have access to. We now have 16
new #HUB Topics to help you find what you are looking for! Select the desired topic to view a list of
articles within that topic. From here, you can also search and filter the list.

View an Article
View an Article from Browse Learning
To view a digital course:
1. Navigate to the Learning application. You can click Discover > Browse Learning to search for a
article, or find a article within My Learning.
2. Click on the desired article.
3. Click Start Course then Launch Content.

Additional Features
Save Course
You can save articles that interest you in your library.
1. Select the desired article to open it.
2. Click Save. Select Save for Later.
3. Once saved, courses can be found under the Learning > My Learning > Saved For Later section.

Drop
Users can drop articles they no longer have interest in.

Drop Article
1. Open the desired article, click the Drop Course link.
2. Optionally, select the Drop Reason.
3. Click OK.
4. Click Submit.

1. Click the My Learning page.
2. Click Drop Enrollment.
3. Select the Program or Course.
4. Select the Drop Reason.
5. Click OK.
6. Click Submit.

Rate a Course / Lesson.


Once a learner has completed an article, they can rate it and leave comments.
1. Click Rate from the article record.
2. Select the desired rating and click Submit.

3. Enter a comment in the Comments field and click Post. You can @ tag someone if you wish for
them to view the comment.

View Transcript
To view your learning history, click Links > My Transcript.
The My Transcript screen displays all learning items that are not started, in progress, or have been
completed as well as any grades collected.
