I. Hypothesis: (alpha=5%)

1. Null Hypothesis
1. There is no significant difference between the sample group and the population (Mean=114) regarding the
Mat_Score. (If the p-value is greater than alpha (5%), then we fail to reject the Null Hypothesis, and accept the
Null Hypothesis)
2. Alternative Hypothesis
1. There is a significant difference between the sample group and the population (Mean=114) regarding the
Mat_Score. (If the p-value is less than or equal to alpha (5%), then we reject the Null Hypothesis, and accept the
Alternative Hypothesis)

Mean SD W p

MAT_Score 120 6.35 0.960 0.282

By the assumption check for normality, the data for the group of students taking the Math examination (Mat_Score) is normal,
W=.960, p=.282.

Note: Since the p-value (.282) is greater than alpha (5%=.05), then the data is normal.

Note: The p-value (<.001) is less than alpha (5%). Reject the Null Hypothesis.

If the data is normal, then we use the Student's t-test. If the data is not normal, then we use the Wilcoxon rank (Non

Descriptives

N Mean Median SD SE

MAT_Score 32 120 120 6.35 1.12

By the assumption check for normality, the data for the group of students taking the Math examination (Mat_Score) is normal,
W=.960, p=.282.
Using the One-Sample t-test, the student's t-test results showed that there was a significant difference between the Sample
group (Mean=120) and the population (Mean=114), t(31)=107, p<.001. This meant that the sample group performed better
than the population group.

II. Hypothesis:

1. Null Hypothesis.
1. There is no significant difference in the Emotional Quotient of the group of students in 2022-2023 to the
population (EQ Mean=100).
2. Alternative Hypothesis.
1. There is a significant difference in the Emotional Quotient of the group of students in 2022-2023 to the
population (EQ Mean=100).

Note: The p-value is less than alpha (5%). The data is not normal. If the data is not normal then we use the Wilcoxon rank.

Descriptives

N Mean Median SD SE

Emotional_Q 32 127 127 12.8 2.27

By the assumption check, the data is not normal, W=.864, p<.001.

Using the One-Sample t-test, the Wilcoxon rank results showed that there was a significant difference in the EQ between the
students of 2022-2023 (Md=100) and the population (Md=127), Wilcoxon rank=528, p<.001. This meant that the students of
2022-2023 were significantly higher than the population.
III. Hypothesis:

1. Null Hypothesis
1. There is no significant difference between the pre-test to post-test.
2. Alternative Hypothesis
1. There is a significant difference between the pre-test to post-test.

Note: The p-value (<.001) is less than alpha (5%). The data is not normal.

N Mean Median SD SE

Pre-Test_Score 32 110 110 7.22 1.28

Posttest_Score 32 121 120 6.75 1.19

By the assumption check, the data is not normal, W=.725, p<.001.

Using the Paired Samples t-test, the Wilcoxon rank results showed that there was a significant difference between the Pre-test
(Md=110) and the Post-test (Md=120), Wilcoxon rank=1.50, p<.001. This only meant that there was a significant increase from
Pre-test to Post-test.
