I am writing to introduce myself, Sathishkumar V, as a passionate

computational design and engineering enthusiast who is eager to enroll in a master's
program in Computational Engineering at Ruhr - Universitat Bochum. I have a strong desire
to expand my knowledge and achieve innovation in the field of automobile design.

During my school days, I was known for being active and sporty, particularly excelling at
athletic games such as running and Kho-kho. At the age of 15, I won first place in the
4x100m running event at the zonal level, completing it in an impressive time of 52.01
seconds. Although my focus at that time was solely on education, I have always been a
quick learner. As a result, I performed well in my SSLC board exams, which allowed me to
explore my interest in driving and repairing vehicles. I discovered my competence in driving
after riding my father's Bajaj Platina 100cc bike and successfully making repairs to it. This
experience led me to pursue a diploma in mechanical engineering.

In 2015, I had the opportunity to attend Muthayammal Polytechnic Institution, where I

further developed my enthusiasm for mechanical engineering. I was thrilled to immerse
myself in learning about mechanical devices and components. During my time there, I had
the privilege of interacting with Er.S. Balasubramaniam, who was not only my chess partner
but also the principal of the institution and the CAD staff. Recognizing my dedication to the
CAD laboratories and theoretical classes, he encouraged me to contribute valuable ideas in
the field of design and research and development. I excelled in the CAD lab and theoretical
exams, achieving an O+ grade. Additionally, I actively participated in the NCC program at
the institution. During one event, I had the honor of listening to a speech by Mr. Anand
Mahindra, the chairman of Mahindra Automobiles, who emphasized the importance of
computational design and FEA. Inspired by his words, I decided to learn CATIA, Solidworks,
and AutoCAD software. With a CGPA of 9.5, I successfully completed my diploma and now
plan to pursue my undergraduate studies.

After completing my Bachelors in mechanical engineering at Kumaraguru College of

Technology (2018-2021), I gained a significant amount of academic knowledge in various
fields such as product design and modeling, strength of materials, and engineering graphics.
This experience allowed me to develop valuable ideas for the design of machine elements
and Finite element analysis, and as a result of my exceptional academic performance, I was
honored with the Mahatma Gandhi Award. My practical skills were further enhanced
through my participation in laboratory work, which was complemented by a Diploma in
mechanical engineering. Notably, I achieved the prestigious Mr. Mechanic award at the
national level for my outstanding performance in practical lab experiments and technical
quizzes at Dr. NGP College of Technology. Additionally, I hold memberships in esteemed
organizations such as the Indian Welding Society (IWS) and the Coimbatore Productivity
Council (CPC).
During the academic year 2019-2020, I had the privilege of serving as the President of the
Road Safety Patrol (RSP) and as a cabinet member of the Social Club at our institution.
These roles provided me with valuable opportunities to enhance my language
communication and leadership skills. Furthermore, I successfully conducted a project
related to automobiles, specifically focusing on fin design in combustion engines, with the
guidance of a project mentor and the knowledge I acquired at Kumaraguru College. As a
testament to my skills and achievements, I was selected to join Petrus Technologies LTD, a
reputable automotive and aerospace design company.

Petrus Technologies serves as a reputable service provider for its esteemed clients. In
addition to undertaking OEM projects independently, the company holds significant
relevance in the automotive and aerospace industries. During my time with the esteemed
LAMP team (Lakshmi Accelerated Margin and Transformational Program), we effectively
utilized various CAD and FEA software such as Pro-E, AutoCAD, Solidworks, and ANSYS.
Our primary objective was to achieve cost-cutting measures in both functional and
nonfunctional areas. To illustrate the concept of cost reduction, I brought samples and
components from the Automobile and Tool divisions.

Now, you may be wondering why I specifically chose Ruhr - Universitat Bochum. Allow me
to take you back to when I was just 16 years old, envisioning my future self five years down
the line. After completing my diploma classes, I would spend countless hours in the
computer lab, tirelessly researching German universities and courses that aligned with my
career aspirations. It was during this extensive search that I discovered "Ruhr - Universitat
Bochum," which quickly became my dream campus. Fast forward to the present, and I find
myself in a position where I am taking the first steps towards admission to my dream
campus. I am filled with hope and optimism for the future, and I trust that everything is
progressing smoothly.

Why does Ruhr want to select me? I am honored to be considered by such a prestigious
institution. As the first graduate in my family, I have diligently pursued my education
without external support. Despite facing numerous struggles and barriers, I have remained
determined to achieve something meaningful in my life.Throughout my academic journey, I
have cultivated a strong sense of focus, passion, and discipline. These qualities have
enabled me to overcome challenges and excel in my studies. I am confident that I can bring
this same level of dedication and commitment to Ruhr - Universitat Bochum. Given the
opportunity to prove myself on your campus, I assure you that I will not disappoint. I am
eager to contribute to the university's vibrant academic community and make a positive
impact. My qualifications and aspirations align perfectly with the values and goals of Ruhr -
