Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing this letter to express my interest in applying for the Master's degree in
Mechanical Engineering. My graduate degree in Mechanical not only laid a strong technological
foundation, but also built a path on which I can continue my journey to achieve my goals.
Mechanics has always interested me, and I have always been curious to understand how things
work since childhood. I have found nothing more amazing than making plans and building
something new. I have always been ready to learn new things, especially those which are more
challenging for me.

I graduated with a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering in June 2020 from the School of
Technology, GITAM (Deemed to be University), Hyderabad. During my undergraduate programme,
I have come across many subjects relevant to my Master's degree and have developed practical
knowledge. Apart from academics, I was an active participant in various projects, both institutional
and competitive. My participation in the manufacturing and design of E-Baja and Go-kart
competitions has exposed me to the mechanical components of a vehicle. I have played an integral
role in both the projects that have brought glory to our University. My participation in these
competitions has led me to learn how to be a team player when being a part of a national-level
competition, deal with the hurdles that we encounter concerning the team, and take inputs from
them. The most challenging project was "SAE E-BAJA 2018-19",, where we had to design and
manufacture an electric All-Terrain Vehicle(ATV). The project was interdisciplinary, involving
students from various departments, and the competition was one of the toughest in India. My
undergraduate study has exposed me to a wide range of subjects like Fluid Mechanics, Applied
Thermodynamics, Manufacturing Process, Automobile Engineering, Machine Design, and
Industrial Engineering Laboratory. I have also attended various workshops related to design,
analysis, and manufacturing processes which include a Fastrack Assembly and Disassembly
Workshop, and completed basic level training in Automobile Powertrains, which involved a study
of the functioning of I.C. Engine and its various subsystems organised by Ezenith Education at
Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani- Hyderabad campus.

I have done an internship on the Production and Testing of Helicopter Components at Ground Test
Centre, Rotary Wing Research and Design Centre, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, Bangalore. This
internship helped me gain knowledge on the primary design data on the mechanical properties of
materials, validation of design and proof of manufacturing processes, quality assurance to meet the
certification requirements specified in the applicable certification documents. It has helped me
improve my technical and practical skills and provided a platform for highly skilled professionals
with immense exposure and knowledge in the industry. I completed a mini project in my junior year
on "Development and Characterisation of YSZ Thermal Barrier Coatings on Ti6Al4V". This
project's main objective was to increase/improve the surface hardness the thermal shock resistance
and reduce metal surface temperatures, thus increasing component durability. I completed my major
project in my senior year on "Development and Characterisation of High-Velocity Oxy-Fuel
Coatings on AISI316L". This project's main objective is to increase/improve the surface wear
resistance and corrosion protection, thus increasing component durability. I have also completed an
academic design project on "Design and Manufacturing of a Connecting Rod using CNC Milling
Machine" under Dr Eshwaraiah Punna at my University campus. Being a part of SAE (Society of
Automotive Engineers), I was constantly exposed to innovative and pioneering technologies by
attending sessions, workshops and reading various articles and publications on the SAE platform.

 After a careful review of the course curriculum, my desire to enrol in this programme has increased
significantly, as it would help me advance my knowledge on the application of engineering, science
and mathematics in modelling, analysis and design. In history, Germany has always been a very
technologically sound and sophisticated nation. We see in our daily life German companies have
made an impeccable mark in all sectors from optics to automobiles and over the years it has
maintained its reputation as a top exporter of machinery and industrial equipment. The engineering
education system has a stellar reputation worldwide. German engineers are also innovators and
have also produces most technologically advanced products such as hearing aids from Siemens AG.

Going through the website of the University, I found that the research work done here is on par with
world class research standards and gave phenomenal results. I expect to have the opportunity to
develop myself in the international environment through networking and interaction with multiple
people with different points of view, which would be a very enriching experience for me. I firmly
believe that my educational background and deep concern in the field of study make me a good
candidate for the programme, by looking at the current scenario of rapid developments in the field
of mechanical engineering and the advancements in manufacturing processes that are going to
transform the modern era of living. So I have decided to work further in mechanical engineering
and manufacturing technology, which helps me refine my knowledge and skills in my areas of
interest.

In this ever-changing world of innovations, where each day is filled with new applications and
concepts, India is on the brink of developments. Hence, upcoming years would create a demand gap
that skilled professionals such as myself would fill, and I am at a junction of a career where I am
confident that when I would make a transition to masters' program, I will be building on a strong
foundation of experiences gained through my school and college. My strategy for my future hence
will be to consolidate this knowledge in a more specialised way which would help me analyse my
insights for the growth of the organisation I would be working for. Having made that statement of
my aspirations, I believe that my constant dedication, will to perform and deliver, and exposure to
distinguished faculties and researches would help me become successful in my field of work. This
masters' would be my path to channelise the knowledge and confidence in me, helping my career
reach newer heights.

I am keen to gain new experiences and, in my opinion, this programme is the best way to achieve
that. I am very enthusiastic about having an opportunity to study at your University and to
demonstrate my skills and ideas. This Master's programme will be an excellent start for an
ambitious career.
