Day 4 – Magoroto to Pangani Coast (Amboni Caves and Tanga town)

Day 5 – Depart Tanga back to Dar

Amani is the largest forested block within the East Usambara Mountains and occupies the southern
extremity of these mountains. The ANR consists of tall luxurious sub montane forests and deciduous to
semi-deciduous lowland forests with an Area (ha) 8,380 ha (This includes 1,065 ha of sub montane
forest). Amani is located in Tanga region and it falls within two districts Muheza and Korogwe.

The Amani Botanical Garden, established in 1902, is one of the oldest Botanical Gardens in Africa.

TRIP DESCRIPTION
Day 1 - Dar es Salaam to Amani Forest Reserve
We shall start our tour from Dar es Salaam around 06:00am to Amani reserve. We will drive for 6 hours.
You will enjoy seeing a lot from road. You will stop on the way to enjoy your packed breakfast

When we reach in Amani, we will go to the hotel and have a food for the 6hrs driving and have some a
little bit of rest for 1hr.

After lunch walk thru dense forest to experience the biodiversity of part of the eastern area. Nature lovers
will like this tour. And in the evening, we will have so work at forest so will see some reptilian animals.

Day 2# Amani Forest
First morning at Amani, we will have breakfast at hotel and starting our tour. We will visit tour office
there for information and give as a permission to visit forest and start at team form's will pass at local
village test some local fruits. Take some pictures.

VISIT WATERFALLS AND SWIMMING

SPICE TOUR - cardamom, vanilla, cloves, cinnamon, black pepper etc

TEA PLANTATIONS AND FACTORY TOUR

There are some endemic plant species you can experience, if time allow, visit tea farms and a virgin forest
in Amani.
After finishing the farmers, we will go to Amani water spring that will see fall's and hot water. There you
will swim and take photos � with local village people and its safe to swim.

Day 3# Amani Reserve to Magoroto

Day 4# Magoroto Reserve to Pangani Coast/ Amboni
Caves
After Breakfast in Magoroto, then drive to Amboni caves via Tanga Town, a knowledgeable hot cave
guide will take to walk in caves. You will hear through explanation on the stalactite and stalagmite
formation of the caves. After an hour touring the caves drive back to Tanga for lunch.

Then after lunch drive further down to the historical Pangani Coast. The drive to this area is very
spectacular. A destination with landscapes views & cultures unique to Tanga. We like this drive so much
which goes through Pangani ferry crossing. Random stops for lunch & pictures, while enjoying meeting
local people, talking all & everything about life. You are expected to arrive to your accommodation
before the sun set.

Day 5# Tanga back to Dar es Salaam
After leisurely breakfast we shall pack and drive back to Dar es Salaam, driving for 6 hours again. You
will stop over for lunch on the way and then driving back to Dar. And that will be end of the tour.
