Custom Scientific Instrument’s CSI-27FAA

Flammability Chamber is a complete system
designed to safely perform all four Bunsen
Burner tests described in the FAA Aircraft
Materials Fire Test Handbook DOT/ FAA/AR-
00/12, Chapters 1 to 4 [FAR Part 25.853, 25.855,
25.1359]:

The CSI-27FAA Test Chamber is fabricated of
brushed stainless-steel material. It is designed

interior light and black painted black wall are
standard features. The combustion gas is
actuated by an electrically actuated shut off
valve.
Burner Assembly
The Burner Assembly mounted on a precision
slide includes a push rod and adjustable
positioning collar. The precision slide which
permits the operator to effortlessly slide the
burner into the sample for the burn test, or
remove the flame by pulling on the knob
backwards.
The burner features a 3/8 inch inside diameter
barrel and flame height gauge. The airflow may
be adjusted by adjusting its bottom adjustment
needle, and by adjusting the outlet tube in or
out of the burner base.
An adjustable fixture is a standard feature that
allows the burner to be tilted to a 60°
inclination for the electric wire burn test
(Chapter 4).
Sample Holder
The CSI-27FAA is configured to be optionally
supplied with four sample holders. Each for the
Bunsen burner tested outlined below:

All four sample holder assemblies are fabricated
of stainless steel. Each sample holder is
included with the required test weight (if
applicable) and provisions to quickly install and
remove from the chamber’s preinstalled
positioning mounts.
