Steps in Analyzing Qualitative Data

Now based on the steps in analyzing qualitative data below, discuss how a researcher
presents its findings in a systematic way. Do this individually.

As the researcher of the study on "Peer Influence and Academic Performance of Maritime
Student-Select of UC-METC," it was crucial for me to present the findings in a systematic
way to ensure the validity and reliability of the research.

The researcher started by organizing and transcribing the data collected from the research
methods chosen, such as interviews, surveys, and questionnaires. This allowed for a clear
and concise representation of the responses given by the participants.

Next, the researcher carefully read and analyzed the data, using open coding to identify
patterns, themes, and categories that emerged from the data. This step allowed for a
deeper understanding of the participants' experiences and perspectives, and provided a
basis for the development of codes and categories that captured the essence of the data.

After analyzing the data, the researcher then organized the codes and categories into a
coherent and meaningful structure, such as a conceptual framework, to make sense of the
data and develop a comprehensive understanding of the phenomenon being studied.
This framework was based on the themes and categories that emerged from the data and
was grounded in the data itself.

Once the conceptual framework was developed, the researcher then used it to generate
themes and sub-themes that captured the main findings of the study. These themes and
sub-themes were clearly defined and supported by quotes and examples from the data,
providing a detailed description of the participants' experiences and perspectives.

Finally, the researcher presented the findings in a systematic way, using a combination of
tables, figures, and narrative text to convey the main themes and sub-themes. The use of
quotes and examples from the data was included to support the findings and provide a
deeper understanding of the phenomenon being studied.
Overall, presenting the findings in a systematic way ensured that the research was valid
and reliable and allowed for a clear and concise representation of the participants'
experiences and perspectives
