POTASSIUM

 Potassium is an element of the periodic table whose chemical symbol is K, and the
atomic number is 19. It is a silvery-white alkaline metal, which is abundant in nature in
elements related to salt water and other minerals.

 Common Uses: Potassium is essential for many living organisms, including plants and
animals. It is used in agricultural fertilizers, in the manufacture of soaps and detergents,
in the food industry and in the manufacture of chemical products.

 Chemical properties: Its very reactive especially with water, which can produce

potassium hydroxide and release hydrogen. It can form several compounds such us

potassium chloride, (KCl) that beign one of the best noun.

 Physical properties: It has a very low fusion point (63.5ºC), and Its solid at room

temperature.
