Introduce Lesson - Remind students of the expectations for the class: No talking
Topic/Focus: when others are talking, what is said in the group, stays in the
group, some of the things we will talk about in class will be
difficult to talk about. We will listen quietly and respectfully, we
will not make fun of others and what they are going through.

Teach Content: - Discuss happy memories the students had with their loved one
- Explain that these memories can sometimes make us sad and
that’s okay
Practice Content: - Create the bracelet using these statements to select the bead
colors:
- Place a bead on your bracelet to represent your loved ones
favorite color.
- Place a bead on your bracelet that represents the month your
loved one was born.
- Place a bead on your bracelet that represents your loved ones
favorite holiday
- Place a bead or beads on your bracelet that represents your loved
ones favorite sports team or activity
- Place a bead on your bracelet that makes you think of the
happiest memory with your loved one
- Place a bead on your bracelet that best represents their
personality
- Place a bead on your bracelet that represents their favorite
season
- Place a bead on your bracelet that reflects the love you have for
them
If they don’t know the answers to the statements, have them place
beads that remind them of their loved one.
Summarize/Close: - Remind the students that even though some memories can make
us sad, its helpful to talk about things with others.
- Allow the students to share how this activity made them feel
