Introduction

The current issue that we observe in Bayugan City Senior High School (Stand
Alone) is lack of water supply and faucet water. The absence of faucet water
for students can result in several adverse effects. Hydration is essential for
overall health, and without access to clean water, students may experience
dehydration, leading to fatigue, difficulty concentrating, and decreased
cognitive performance. Insufficient water can also impact hygiene, increasing
the risk of illness and affecting general well-being. Lack of proper hydration
and sanitation can contribute to absenteeism, hindering students’ ability to
fully engage in their education.

Issue

The absence of faucet water for students can pose several issues, including:

 Dehydration: Lack of access to water can lead to dehydration, affecting

physical health and cognitive function.
 Health Risks: Inadequate water supply may compromise hygiene,
increasing the risk of waterborne diseases and other health issues.
 Academic Performance: Dehydration can impact concentration and
cognitive abilities, potentially hindering academic performance.
 Fatigue and Discomfort: Students may experience fatigue and
discomfort due to insufficient hydration, making it challenging to participate
actively in educational activities.
 Increased Absenteeism: Health issues related to poor water access may
lead to increased absenteeism, affecting regular attendance and
participation in classes.
 Impact on Overall Well-being: Lack of clean water can negatively impact
the overall well-being of students, affecting their physical and mental
health.
 Cleanliness: Lack of faucet water can negatively affect the cleanliness of
school especially in comfort room (CR).
Addressing water supply issues is crucial for creating a conducive learning
environment and promoting the health and academic success of students.

Solution

Addressing the lack of faucet water for students requires a multi-faceted approach:

 Infrastructure Improvement: Invest in improving water infrastructure to

ensure reliable and clean water supply on school premises.
 Water Accessibility: Install water dispensers or taps in strategic locations
to make clean water easily accessible to students throughout the school.
 Education on Hygiene: Implement educational programs to promote
hygiene practices, emphasizing the importance of regular handwashing
and proper water usage.
 Community Engagement: Involve the community in finding sustainable
solutions, seeking support from local authorities, NGOs, or other relevant
stakeholders.
 Water Conservation: Encourage water conservation practices within the
school community to ensure a sustainable and efficient use of available
water resources.
 Regular Maintenance: Establish a routine maintenance schedule for
water facilities to prevent breakdowns and ensure a continuous water
supply.

By combining these measures, it is possible to address the challenges related to the

lack of faucet water, promoting the health, well-being, and academic success of
students.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the lack of faucet water for students can have multifaceted
consequences, ranging from physical health issues due to dehydration to
potential impacts on academic performance and overall well-being. Adequate
access to clean water is essential for maintaining good health, supporting
concentration in studies, and fostering a conducive learning environment.
Addressing water supply challenges is crucial to ensure students can thrive
both academically and personally.

Recommendations

Recommendations to address the lack of faucet water for students:

 Infrastructure Investment: Allocate funds for the improvement of water

infrastructure within educational institutions, ensuring reliable and clean
water supply.

emphasize the importance of proper hygiene practices, including regular
handwashing, to reduce the risk of waterborne diseases.
 Environmental Sustainability: Promote water conservation and
environmentally sustainable practices to ensure the long-term availability
of water resources.
 Regular Monitoring and Maintenance: Establish a system for regular
monitoring of water facilities and ensure prompt maintenance to prevent
disruptions in the water supply.
