School Name: Palasan Elementary School
Name of Coordinator: Ma. Luz N. Tulod

INTRODUCTION

The Department of Education crafted the DepEd Order No.10 s. 2016 also
known as Wash in Schools Policy as a holistic program for personal health care
and environmental sanitation through a set of standards for proper and correct
health practices in schools. Hygiene and sanitation are essential to good health.
Wash in Schools Program (WINS) is a school-based program that promotes
hygiene and sanitation practices through hygiene and sanitation education and
the provision of standards for safe water supply and appropriate sanitation
facilities. WINS focuses on standards for the promotion of a clean and safe
school environment and correct hygiene and sanitation among learners.
INTRODUCTION

This school year 2021- 2022 it was the second year battling amidst pandemic,
the Department of Education continued directives for the strict of observance of
precautions recommended by DOH and WHO to reduce the general risk of
transmission of respiratory infection, specifically, proper hand and respiratory
hygiene and safe food practices. Proper handwashing is needed to minimize the
risk of transmission through touching any contaminated object, material or
surface; the respiratory hygiene is needed to reduce the risk of spreading the
virus by an infected individual.

standard protocols. Before the opening of classes we conducted virtual orientation on health and safety protocols
to disseminate information's on how to prevent spreading the coronavirus, the Brigada Eskwela signage
committee install different signage's visible to the reader when they will enter in our school compound. To
improve and ensure equitable access to safe water, the Prime Water conducted monthly water testing of our
drinking faucets. Amidst pandemic, it is not a hindrance to pursue our school projects in WINS. We continue to
maintain the cleanliness, proper waste managements and sanitation of school premises. In order to be more
updated in WINS activities, teachers and learners participated in webinars and Global Handwashing Day. Learners
actively participated in handwashing and tooth brushing at home. To reduce contacts, teaching personnel have
their Alternative Work Arrangement schedules. Also, to reduce duration of infection we have Preventive Alert
System in School (PASS) Team. With the support of Barangay officials, we come up with a Clean Up Drive with
members of TUPAD DOLE.
This accomplishment report served as evidence that we accomplished WINS activities for the First Quarter.
