PROJECT PROPOSAL: WINS PROGRAM

I. PROJECT TITLE: “HUSIPI Mo, Tungo sa Kalusugan Mo”
II. RATIONALE
Hygiene and sanitation are essential to good health. Adequate water
supply and adequate toilet and proper hand washing facilities are required
to achieve good hygiene and sanitation. The lack of access to these
facilities poses risk to people’s health. However, the mere presence of
these facilities is not enough to achieve better hygiene and sanitation
among the community members. Proper and correct practices in the use
of these facilities must be practiced to maximize the benefits and achieve
the impact to the well-being of the community.
Hygiene and sanitation challenges have caused many children in
developing countries to fall ill and even die from infection with intestinal
parasites, abdominal pain, and diarrhea. This situation also leads to
anemia, stunted growth, and higher incidence of absenteeism which
consequently impede a child’s learning and ability to stay in school.
III. OBJECTIVES:
In accordance with the DepEd WINS Program and to prevent diseases
among to our children this project is to encourage our learners to wash
their hands regularly and to practice their proper hygiene at all times
especially now that we are experiencing COVID-19 pandemic.
Specifically, it aims for the following:

1. To ensure correct knowledge and understanding among learners of

effective hygiene and sanitation projects;

2. To improve equitable access to safe water, adequate toilets, and hand
washing facilities;
 3. To promote positive behavior change among the young children.
4. To improve their health, quality of life, and prospects for a productive
future
5. To promote gender equality, and
6. To engage public and private partners for program implementation and
sustainability.
