SCHOOL’S BEST PRACTICES TEMPLATE

Best Practice/s Title: Project BPP (Balikatan sa Patubig ng Paaralan) : A joint PTA Project with
Stakeholders
School: Malao-a/ Calantas Elementary School
Proponent: PTA and BarangayOfficials
Brief Introduction (Reflect the DepEd Mandate/ Legal Bases, the situational analysis or gaps with data, objective/s)

Based on DepeEd Memo 071, S.2021, Preparations for The Pilot Face-To-Face, Expansion and
Transitioning to New Normal. In preparation for the Limited Face to Face Classes, a school must have a good
source of water supply. It is not just one of the requirements in the School Safety Assessment but most
importantly, it is one of the basic needs in school.
Malao-a/Calantas ES is one of the schools where water source comes from natural source. With this, it is
expected that the school does not have interruption. However, there is limited supply of water hose to connect
from the main source to school.
This issue is immediately addressed by the PTA and Barangay Officials where a Project BPP (Balikatan
sa Patubig ng Paaralan) established. It aims to provide potable water to learners in the conduct of limited face to
face, to maintain proper hygiene among learners to avoid acquiring virus to avoid absenteeism which affect the
performance of the learners in the attendance and poor accomplishment of their learning materials

Executive Summary (description of the best practices not more than 150 words)

Parents, teachers and other stakeholders aim to resolve this issue by coordinating with the barangay
officials to request assistance to have provide 25 roll of water hose to connect from the source to supply water in
the school. As of to date, this issue has been addressed since PTA and Barangay donated 25 rolls of water hose.
In the installation of water hose, PTA and barangay officials with the assistance of school personnel
worked collaboratively to secure water supply to be used in the water system project.
This project helps the learners in maintaining their proper hygiene and they have potable drinking water.
The school has enough water to sustain the cleanliness of the school.

Indicative Program of Activities (Include the pre-implementation, implementation and post implementation of
activities, don’t forget the monitoring and evaluation)

Coordination meeting with GPTA, Barangay officials and other stakeholders about the requirements in
the implementation of the expansion of Limited face to face. One of the gaps being raised is the lack of water
supply which is the number one requirement upon the implementation of Limited Face to face. With this, we
come up with a plan to solicit funds that is enough to purchase water hose.
Upon completion of the funds and purchase of water hose, the GPTA officers and barangay officials
scheduled the volunteers on the installation from the main source.
Monitoring and evaluation is properly done and proper adjustments done with the findings regarding the
project.

Highlights of Accomplishment (Strategies/ activities done that have significantly impacted the performance of the
school and the learners with the participation of its stakeholders)

The learners are able to use the handwashing area upon entering the school premises. The comfort
rooms have enough supply of water supply and have enough water for handwashing and tooth brushing. These
help the learners to maintain proper hygiene specially on this better normal that each learner must practice
cleanliness to avoid virus and bacteria.
This project strengthens the relationship between the school and the learning community upon having
communication on the needs of the school and for the improvement of school facilities for the safety of our
learners.

Lessons Learned (lessons learned during the implementation of the best practices)

The water source is enough to sustain the needs of the school to maintain the cleanliness of the school
and to help our learners to maintain proper hygiene.
The good relationship between the school and the learning community helps in the maintenance of the
project.

Recommendations for Continuous Improvement (in bullet form, be direct and specific)
