TEST PROCEDURE D3/D3.

1
Testing the SEE software modifications to ensure a switch
off of the excitation equipment under abnormal conditions

Plant code word:

Block number:

Testing under standstill conditions

Attention: valid for SEEs supplied by the station bus bar via external HV-CB only!
Preconditions
• GT or ST is not in operation.
• Install temporary connection for the internal AC-supply from station supply: There-
fore open fuse-isolators on E012 (e.g.-Q116 or –Q216) and on E014 (e.g.-Q117
or –Q217) and temporary the AC-Mini Circuit Breakers (or fuses) in the 400V dis-
tribution panel. Attention: Follow the safety rules!
Connect output-side (:2, :4, :6) of mini circuit breaker from the station supply
E032–Q61 to the secondary side (2U, 2W, 2V) of the transformers –T101 and
–T102 (or –T201 and –T202).
Close AC-Mini Circuit Breakers (or fuses) in the 400V distribution panel.
• Simulation 1: negate F002/001 module 06, Input 1 (n>90%).
• The key switch mounted below the operation panel is turned to local operation.
• Put the SEE MV-Circuit Breaker (between station supply and excitation trans-
former) into Test Position.

Test sequence
1. Switch off via low frequency
• Switch on SEE in automatic channel.
• Protection Off after 10s and deexcitation breaker switches off.

2. Switch off via low voltage

• Simulation 2: negate F002/001 module 06, input 2 (Disable Switch off via low
frequency)
• Switch on SEE in automatic channel again.
• Other channel shows message protection off after 10s. (SEE faulty, red LED on)
• Protection off after 30s and deexcitation breaker switches off.

3. Off blocking from DCS in case of lost 220VDC

• Simulation 3: negate F002/001 module 06, input 3 (Disable Switch off via low
voltage).
• Simulation 4: negate F002/001 module 06, input 4 (Disable Switch off via actual
value monitoring).
• Switch on SEE in automatic channel.
• Other channel shows message protection off after 10s. (SEE faulty, red LED on)
• Switch off MCB -Q113 and -Q114.
• SEE remains on and works still in the same automatic channel.
• On the local operation panel the following messages are displayed:
(Do not take care about failures in the other channel.)

TEST PROCEDURE D3/D3.1
Testing the SEE software modifications to ensure a switch
off of the excitation equipment under abnormal conditions

S12108E Power Supply MCB

S12108H Buffer Voltage DC 220V
S12108K Buffer Voltage DC 24V
S12108L DC 60V Buffer
S63108B External Isolator Runtime Error (only compact units, not at STs)
Generator is on line (symbol: L on the operation panel)
• SEE and SFC are disturbed (both red LEDs are on).
• Switch on MCB -Q113 and -Q114.
• Faults in the active channel can be reset and the equipment stays stable free of
faults. (Other channel is still faulty Æ SEE faulty, red LED still on)
• SEE still works in the same automatic channel.
• Switch off MCB -Q113 and -Q114 again.
• Select remote operation by turning the key switch into corresponding position.
• Switch off SEE from DCS (CMI_RDW17_B00) is not possible Æ watch control
voltage on scope staying at its maximum.

4. Switch off via n < 90%

• Simulation 5: negate F002/001 module 06, input 5 (negate input test position)
• Remove Simulation 1: remove negation on F002/001 module 06, input 1 (n>90%)
• The regulator gets blocked immediately (watch control voltage on scope).
• The deexcitation breaker is still on.
• The SEE HV-Circuit Breaker (between station supply and excitation transformer)
opens after 6s.

5. Normalize SEE
• Remove simulation 2: remove negation on F002/001 module 06, input 2
• Remove simulation 3: remove negation on F002/001 module 06, input 3
• Remove simulation 4: remove negation on F002/001 module 06, input 4
• Remove simulation 5: remove negation on F002/001 module 06, input 5
• Switch on MCB -Q113 and -Q114 and deexcitation breaker switches off.
• Remove temporary supply installed under chapter preconditions and normalize
power supply. Attention: Follow the safety rules!
• Put the SEE MV-Circuit Breaker (between station supply and excitation trans-
former) into operating position.
