WORK EXPERIENCE
Johnson & Johnson – Biosense Webster, Inc. | Irvine, CA June 2022 – February 2024
Medical Device Engineering Development Program Engineer II
● Worked on process and design improvements on VARIPULSE Bi-Directional Catheter contraction knob torque based on
surgeon feedback. Served as liaison between Mexican and American teams to incorporate changes through general feedback
and Process Instruction redlines.
● Managed root cause analysis investigation work to understand problems arising from new design solution for VARIPULSE
contraction torque.
● Designed catheter measurement fixture and procedure to be used during Design Validation Testing of contraction process
improvement.
● Analyzed BPA crystal formation on catheter handle based on accelerated aging temperatures and packaging changes.
● Developed a benchtop test to measure and characterize looped nitinol metal spring constant within .0001 N/mm.
Characterization allows for vendor comparison for future cost reduction opportunities. Work included CAD fixture design
and improvement as well as data analysis through Excel and Minitab.
● Responsible for presenting work to upper management during monthly meetings.
● Managed a team of four engineers to develop a catheter handle prototype by leveraging CAD, 3D printing, and VOC
feedback.
● Participated in a company-wide Hackathon in a small inter-department team of engineers and marketing leadership to
develop proof of concept prototype for a stabilized catheter tip with the help of technicians.
● Provided technical assistance in operating rooms during VARIPULSE GEN1 AdmIRE clinical trials in various cities.
● Credited on 3 IP submissions: ID: Ablation Catheter Ergonomic Updates (In Review), ID: Catheter Tip Contact Improvement
(Search Requested), ID: inQuire Ablation Catheter Suspension for Stability During Heartbeats (In Review)
Johnson & Johnson – Robotic and Digital Solutions | Santa Clara, CA June 2021 – August 2021
Mechanical Engineering Intern
● Created and iterated over 15 engineering drawings utilizing GD&T.
● Developed solutions preventing fluid testing for key part components through gasketing and part modification and
implemented testing thereof.
● Advanced design system verifications by creating and utilizing 4 fixtures for weight specification.
● Participated in monthly Research and Development technical presentations.
Fresenius – NxStage | Lawrence, MA June 2020 – August 2020
R&D Intern
● Wrote and executed test procedures to characterize fluid shifts as small as one gram in a pressure balanced system caused by
alarm conditions such as overheated fluid and clotted lines.
● Managed verification testing of alarm triggering conditions of a Hemodialysis cycler during low fluid flow.
● Co-wrote test cases to evaluate system specifications during uncommon treatment parameters.
● Incorporated both saline and bovine blood samples during test implementation.
University of Pennsylvania | Philadelphia, PA August 2019 – May 2022
Teaching Assistant for MEAM 201: Machine Design and Manufacturing
● Helped lead a small weekly lab section (8 students) to teach topics including tolerance stack-ups, engineering drawing
creation, and GD&T.
● Taught and guided students on how to use manufacturing machines (Prototrak hybrid mills, manual lathes, bandsaws, drill
presses).

SELECTED PROJECTS
Stirling Engine | Machine Design and Manufacturing (MEAM 201) Fall 2018
● Designed and built “Starry-Night” themed Gamma-type Stirling Engine as class final.
● Machined with tolerances minimum of .0001 inches and maximum of 0.01 inches.
Vertical Axis Wind Turbine | Mech. Eng. Lab I (MEAM 347) Fall 2019
● Designed, built, and tested a full-sized Lenz-type vertical axis wind turbine in a small group of three.
● Skills developed include team leadership, time management, and dimensional analysis.
