Speaking 1 (Project)

James: Hi Andrea, how attentive were you to the class on careers that
will disappear because of technology in about 10 years?
Andrea: Yes, in fact I think it was a really interesting class.
Manuel:What's up guys, am I interrupting?
James: No, not at all.
Andrea: What did you think about the class Manuel?
Manuel: Very interesting, in fact I sat next to Paolo and was talking to
him about it. Look, it's right over there.
Paolo: What's up guys, how are you?
Valeria: Hi Manuel, James and Andrea .Well, I think today's topic was
interesting, we learned a lot.
Paolo: Interesting to say the least, it was really incredible.
James: Yes guys and what do you think about the application of
technology in the future, like robots and artificial intelligence?
Valeria: I think it is partially a good idea, technology is helpful in many
aspects of life and it increases the productivity and efficiency of humans
because we do a lot of activities in less time.
Andrea: I agree with Valeria, the technology helped us a lot in aspects
like medicine, the building of houses and everyday things , but in fact
maybe some people think that the fastest advance on technology will
affect us in the aspect of maybe getting replaced by robots.
Paolo: I agree since as time goes by robots will replace some jobs such
as mechanics since in the future there may be machines that can fix
vehicles.
Manuel: In my opinion, the application of technology in the future,
including robots and artificial intelligence, promises significant advances
in efficiency, automation, and the improvement of everyday life. However,
it also poses ethical and social challenges that must be carefully
addressed.
Andrea: Yeah I think so. Since we are talking about the topics of the
class. What are your long and short-term plans?
Manuel: Very interesting question. My short-term plans are not many, but
the most important ones will be to finish studying English, and go on
vacation to Arequipa, it is a very welcoming city, I will like to go back; I
also plan to go on exchange to Mexico, Spain or Brazil, they have some
of the best universities in civil engineering. and future plans are still not
clear to me.
James: Well, I would like to have my professional degree soon when I
finish this year, but my main plan is going to have a stable job and find
an apartment to live in with my dog. And yours Paolo?
Paolo: My short-term plans are to go to the carnivals, and in the long
term the plans are to finish my degree and start studying for a master's
degree. You also wanted to start a family and be able to buy your own
house. And yours Valeria?
Valeria: In my short-term plans I’m visiting my grandparents next
weekend, I enjoy spending time with them. About long-term plans,
maybe I will travel to Chile to do an exchange because that way I’ll be
able to learn and apply comparative law. What about you Andrea?
Andrea: My short- term plans are to finish my summer classes and then
enjoy a couple weeks with my family. In my long term plan I would like to
finish my career and start working, maybe in another country like Spain
or the USA.
Manuel: Great, you guys have such good plans.
