Semi-Detailed Lesson Plan

(Deductive Teaching Method)


I. OBJECTIVE
At the end of the lesson plan, pupils will be able to:
a. define and identify what is a noun.
b. understand the use of nouns.
c. perform the given task that depict their knowledge about a noun (song, chants, poets); and
d. create sentences containing noun

III. PROCEDURE
A. Preliminary Activities

c. Raise your hand if you have a question
7. Recall the past lesson

B. Motivation
● Tell students that today, they will be learning about what a noun is and how
to find them in a sentence.

Task 1. FIND ME
Direction: Ask students to look around the room and look for objects. Call on a
a few students to share their items.
● What item are you holding right now?
● Do you think that item is a noun?
● Explain that all of those objects are nouns, which are the words we use for
people, animals, places, and things.
C.Activity
● Play a song about nouns to the students to solidify their idea. Students will Play a song
list of the nouns they heard from the given song.

● Let the students raise a hand when they hear nouns mentioned to make the activity
more interactive.

D.Abstraction

● Proceed to the proper lesson which is the noun


● Ask students to define a noun. After taking a few student’s ideas, explain that a noun is a
person, place or thing.
● Tell students that nouns found in sentences can explain who or what the sentence is
about, where an event took place, and many other things relevant to the sentence.
● Write "swim through the sea." on the board and ask students to identify what is wrong
with the sentence.
● Call on one student. After they share their idea, say that we don’t know who or what
swam through the sea. Explain that this is because the sentence is missing a noun. Ask
students what noun could be placed in the sentence to make it complete. Call on a few
volunteers.
● Ask students if they found another noun in the sentence.
● Introduce to the students a “Short Story” and let them identify the nouns in the given
story.
● If they already know and understand the lesson, proceed to the performance task.

E. Application
Task: Performances
Each group will create a presentation that shows their understanding of the lesson

Direction: The class will be divided into 3 groups. Each group will be given a different task to
perform, song, chant, poem. Each group will be given 10 minutes to plan and prepare, and 2
minutes to perform.

Criteria for judging:

IV. ASSESSMENT
Direction: Make a sentence that includes the given nouns below. Write it on a ½ sheet of paper.
For example: Word: Dog 1.I was bitten by a dog.
1. Elephant
2. Germany
3. Daniel
4. Dress
5. Ships

V. ASSIGNMENT
Cite the different types of noun and give one example each. Write it in a ½ sheet of paper

Springboard: “Short Story”

The girls went to the mall with their mother. First, they stopped and looked at the hamsters,
puppies, kittens, mice, and birds. Next, they wanted to check out the store with toys. They
looked at the dolls, jacks and jump ropes. While they were walking around, they saw their
teacher, their neighbor and the librarian at the mall!

The girls left and went home. They were exhausted and hungry. When they arrived home,
their first stop was the kitchen. They grabbed a snack and ate it in their bedroom. After resting
for a while, the girls decided to play outside
