Dear KTM Distributor!

Initial Information:

To prevent problems with deeply discharged batteries, we would like to bring some important
information to your attention.

On each motorcycle after the receipt and before the handover to the final customer, the off-
load-voltage has to be checked, according to the advises in the owners handbooks. If
necessary, the battery has to be charged. (100% charging rate has to be obtained).
If the off-load-voltage is below 12V, the battery has to be replaced by a new one (issue a
warranty claim as described below).

Independent to the checking procedure mentioned above, at receipt or handover to the final
customer, ever battery has to be charged when the off-load-voltage is below 12,4V or when the
bike is stored for 3 months or longer!
Please, always pay attention to the instructions in the owners handbook and advise your
customers to follow those recommendations too.

To guarantee optimum battery charging we recommend KTM charging device Art. No.
584 29 074 000. This device verifies off-load-voltage, start-ability and generator power. It can
also be used for the preservation of batteries.

No special procedure required.

Failed, respectively replaced parts:

Store according to warranty regulations.
