9 Tips for

Staying Relevant on LinkedIn

My coaching sessions focus on staying relevant on LinkedIn. This means
relevant in content, network building and branding. LinkedIn’s algorithm
is clever. It shows you content and connections based on your relevance.
If your scroll on your timeline is not showing content relevant to your
niche, which is an alarm to focus on becoming relevant.

Invest time and efforts towards this goal, otherwise, you may not
gain the real benefits.

1 Read relevant articles

2 Follow relevant posts

3 Follow relevant connections.

4 Write relevant content.

5 Follow relevant hashtags.

6 Select your relevant industry.

7 Select your relevant skills.

8 Avoid engaging with anything that is irrelevant.

9 Use relevant keywords in your LinkedIn profile.

9 Tips to
Increase Acceptance
Rate of your Invitations
15% acceptance rate is good. When I coach my clients I force
them to ask this question: “Why would someone accept my invite?”
– This helps in creating a strategy that works.

First and foremost tip is to send a personalized invitation.

Generic invitations with words such as demo, call, schedule,
and introduction should be avoided.

Create a set of three types of invitations for people you

1 know, people you have met on LinkedIn and people you
don’t know but desire to connect with.
Start engaging on their posts for a week before
2 sending an invite.
Always refer to something interesting you found in their
3 posts, be specific.

4 Phrase “mutual connections” not longer gets attention.

5 Share something they like (a blog, post or quote).

6 When sending an InMail, never write a long message.

7 Avoid sending any attachments.

8 Do not look spammy.

9 Start with a relevant Subject Line.

8
Check if you are using these features or not, activate
and improve your profile value:

1 LinkedIn Cover Banner (use this for your visual branding)

2 Featured posts (another tool for visual branding)

8 most underutilized
3 Add volunteering section (to help you standout as a leader)
