Film Review: AVATAR (2009)

Avatar is the most successful movie of all time. It was directed by James
Cameron. After 14 years, the blockbuster still attracts a large number of fans
around the world to the stage to experience cinema.
The story is set in the year 2154. At this time, humans have exhausted all of the
earth's resources, and the earth is now just a barren area, with no trees and no
minerals. The scientific and technological level of humans at this time was very
good, they were able to go to other planets and exploit products here to serve the
needs of Earth people. During their travels, people found a pristine planet called
Pandora. Pandora harbors a planetary forest inhabited peacefully by the Na'vi, a
blue-skinned, golden-eyed race of slender giants. Each of them must be 12 feet tall.
Because humans cannot breathe the air here, scientists have created Na'vi clones
with Earth human genes, each of which will need to be controlled by the owner
who donated the genes, because the This Na'vi clone will be the embodiment of an
Earthling, so it is called "Avatar". Jake Sully is a Marine who was discharged from
the military due to a spinal injury that left his legs paralyzed. Jake's twin brother is
a scientist who volunteers to work on Pandora. Jake's younger brother donated the
gene, which was used to create an avatar, but then he died in battle, and since no
one else could control the avatar except the person with the matching gene, they
invited Jake to Pandora to continue controlling his brother's avatar. Jake controls
his avatar to integrate into the Na'vi community and falls in love with the tribe's
chief's daughter named Neytiri. The longer he lives with his avatar's body, the
more Jake thinks that this is his real life, and that his human body is just a dream.
He gradually forgot his main purpose was to infiltrate Na'vi society and advise
them to abandon their sacred land, which was located on a huge mineral mine.
After a while, humans lost patience with the plan to learn about and infiltrate Na'vi
society and decided to use force. They brought guns and death to these sociable
and nature-loving people. Jake now realized the true nature of war, that humanity
is always unjust and violent, and helped the Na'vi stand up against this invasion,
helping to bring peace to the planet Pandora.
With a duration of 162 minutes, the film does not feel long thanks to choosing
the right emotional points. This is the greatest film I’ve ever watched, not just
because of the special effects, but also a flat-out Green and anti-war message. I
definitely recommend it.

Teacher’s notes:
 Summarize the plot. There’s too much information. Spoiler alert! :D
 You might want to include the cast of the movie.
 Are kids allowed to see the movie?
