12 Fit the male nut and the ferrule

to the sample loop, then use a
6 mm wrench to tighten the male
nut (A) and fit the sample loop to
the joint section on the needle
side.

Insert the sample loop until it touches the back of the connection hole, and
then use a wrench to tighten it.
If the sample loop is not fully inserted and does not reach the back of the
connection hole, a dead volume will be created and may cause a broad peak
or cross contamination.

13 Attach the section (a) of the

sample loop that is positioned by
bands to the innermost hook (b)
attached to the inner left side of
the plastic cover.

As shown in the
diagram, to ensure
the band heads face
toward the left side
of the instrument,
twist about
90° counterclockwise
when seen from the
front of the
instrument, and
attach the sample
loop to the hook.

14 Fix the sample loop to the

remaining 2 hooks (c).

15 Fix the sample loop to the 2

clamps (d) attached on the inside
of the plastic cover.

3.5 Replacing the Sample Loop

16 Align the protrusion (a) on the

top of the Z mount with the slit
(b) on the top of the Z mount
cover and fit them together. Hold
the bottom of the Z mount from
both sides, and fit the right and
left catches (c) on the bottom of
the Z mount cover to the Z
mount bottom.

17 Pass the flat cable (A) through 3

the clamp (B) and close the clamp.

If the clamp (B) is

stiff and difficult to
close, hold the Z
mount cover with
one hand and close
the clamp (B).

After inspection and replacement, be sure to attach the Z mount cover and
clamp the flat cable.
Failure to do so may result in the cable interfering with another internal part
and causing abnormal operation or a malfunction.

After Z mount cover is installed, check that Z mount cover does not come off
with lightly pulling it forward.
If Z mount cover is not correctly installed, it may drop, resulting in damaging
the parts of the autosampler.

18 Fit the male nut and the ferrule

to the sample loop, then use a
6 mm wrench to tighten the male
nut (A) and fit the sample loop to
port 1 of the high-pressure valve.

19 Slacken the sample loop fitted to

port 1 as shown in the diagram,
then adjust the tubing
configuration so that the lowest
point is positioned above the
high-pressure valve tray.

20 Move the Z mount by hand

toward the upper part of the
high-pressure valve, and check
that the sample loop does not
interfere with the Z mount
bottom.

21 Attach the front panel.
