This is a core unit within the WSQ Qualification ‘Certificate of F&B Service’.

Synopsis
Training in this unit of competency aims to equip the candidate with the knowledge and skills to
interact with and serve F&B guests and be able to apply these knowledge and skills in an actual
work setting.
Pre-requisites
Ability to read and interpret simple instructions on familiar topics
Ability to write short, simple notes/messages and filling up forms that require
basic personal information
Ability to listen and speak simple phrases
Ability to perform simple calculations and make necessary adjustments.
Level 4 literacy and numeracy ability under the Singapore Employability Skills Set
Delivery Methodology
Classroom based training, ratio of 1 trainer : 20 candidates

Role play either in a realistic or simulated environment

Award
Participants who have completed this unit will be issued with a Statement of Attainment.
Articulation
On completion of all the pre-requisite units within the WSQ Certificate of F&B Service, the
candidate will be eligible to pursue the WSQ Advanced Certificate in F&B Service.
