Test No. 1 - Power Failure only Status Comments

1 Cut-off mainboard normal power
2 Generator auto cut-in after 15 seconds
3 Emergency lights come on in all spaces
4 Exit signs remain lit
5 All lifts go to 1st storey / nearest floor and cannot operate
6 Firemen lift switch turned on. Firemen lift can be used now.
7 Firemen lift can be used
8 Firemen lift intercom can be used to speak to Telephone Operator
9 All EM lock unlock (failsafe mode)
10 Disabled alarm can be used to inform Telephone Operator
11 Normal power come back. Emergency lights switch off. Normal lights come on.
12 Generator auto cut-out after 60 seconds of normal power resume.
13 Reset lift panel. All lifts function normally including lift intercom
14 All EM lock resume on normal power

Test No. 2 - Power Failure and fire alarm in common areas (i.e. smoke/thermal detector or manual call point)

1 Cut-off mainboard normal power
2 Generator auto cut-in after 15 seconds
3 Emergency lights come on in all spaces
4 Exit signs remain lit
5 All lifts go to 1st storey / nearest floor and cannot operate
6 Reset lift panel for lifts to normal operate on emergency generator power
7 Set off any 1 number smoke detector in common areas. Immediate general alarm to building
8 All lifts to home to 1st storey / nearest floor and cannot operate.
9 Firemen lift switch turned on. Firemen lift can be used now.
10 Firemen lift intercom can be used to speak to Telephone Operator
11 Public announcement in two languages (local language and English) to evacuate building and guestroom.
12 Background music cut-off upon fire alarm signal
13 Fire alarm bells go off. Visual alarm goes off.
14 Staircase pressurisation fan operate, smoke control system operate.
15 All EM locks unlock

Test No. 3 - Power Failure and smoke detector activate in guestroom

S/N Description
1 Cut-off mainboard normal power
2 Generator auto cut-in after 15 seconds
3 Emergency lights come on in all spaces
4 Exit signs remain lit
5 All lifts go to 1st storey / nearest floor and cannot operate
6 Reset lift panel for lifts to normal operate on emergency generator power
7 Set off smoke detector in guestroom. Smoke detector sounder base 75dBA at bed. No general alarm to building
8 Wait for 20 seconds for Telephone Operator to acknowledge. If not acknowledged, general alarm to building
9 Once press Acknowledged, Wait for 3 minutes. After 3minutes, general alarm to building and guestroom.
10 While waiting during the 3 minutes, set off another 1 number smoke detector. Now whole building fire alarm
11 All lifts to home to 1st storey / nearest floor and cannot operate.
12 Firemen lift switch turned on. Firemen lift can be used now.
13 Firemen lift intercom can be used to speak to Telephone Operator
14 Public announcement in two languages (local language and English) to evacuate building and guestroom
15 Background music cut-off upon fire alarm signal
16 Fire alarm bells go off. Visual alarm goes off.
17 Staircase pressurisation fan operate, smoke control system operate.
18 All EM locks unlock

Test No. 4 - Power Failure and fire sprinkler activation (or fire hosereel)
S/N Description
1 Cut-off mainboard normal power
2 Generator auto cut-in after 15 seconds
3 Emergency lights come on in all spaces
4 Exit signs remain lit
5 All lifts go to 1st storey / nearest floor and cannot operate
6 Reset lift panel for lifts to normal operate on emergency generator power
7 Set off fire sprinkler. Whole building fire alarm
8 Jockey pumps cut in.
9 Main fire pump cut in. Now we will stop main fire pump
 10 Standby diesel fire pump cut in.
11 Fire pumproom exhaust fan continue to operate
12 All lifts to home to 1st storey / nearest floor and cannot operate.
13 Firemen lift switch turned on. Firemen lift can be used now.
14 Firemen lift intercom can be used to speak to Telephone Operator
15 Public announcement in two languages (local language and English) to evacuate building and guestroom.
16 Background music cut-off upon fire alarm signal
17 Fire alarm bells go off. Visual alarm goes off.
18 Staircase pressurisation fan operate, smoke control system operate.
19 All EM locks unlock

Test No. 5 - Power Failure and kitchen suppression system activation

5 All lifts go to 1st storey / nearest floor and cannot operate
6 Reset lift panel for lifts to normal operate on emergency generator power
7 Kitchen fire suppression is activated
8 Close gas solenoid valve
9 Send whole building fire alarm
10 Kitchen exhaust fan continue to operate
11 All lifts to home to 1st storey / nearest floor and cannot operate.
12 Firemen lift switch turned on. Firemen lift can be used now.
13 Firemen lift intercom can be used to speak to Telephone Operator
14 Public announcement in two languages (local language and English) to evacuate building and guestroom.
15 Background music cut-off upon fire alarm signal
16 Fire alarm bells go off. Visual alarm goes off.
17 Staircase pressurisation fan operate, smoke control system operate.

Test No. 6 - Power Failure and smoke detector activation for pre-action system

5 All lifts go to 1st storey / nearest floor and cannot operate
6 Reset lift panel for lifts to normal operate on emergency generator power
7 1 No. smoke detector activated. Fire alarm signal to main alarm panel
8 2nd Number smoke detector (in another zone) activated. Signal to pre-action solenoid valve.
9 Water charge in to pre-action system
10 Fire sprinkler activated
11 Send whole building fire alarm
12 All lifts to home to 1st storey / nearest floor and cannot operate.
13 Firemen lift switch turned on. Firemen lift can be used now.
14 Firemen lift intercom can be used to speak to Telephone Operator
15 Public announcement in two languages (local language and English) to evacuate building and guestroom.

Test No. 7 - Power Failure and gas detector goes off

2 Generator auto cut-in after 15 seconds
3 Emergency lights come on in all spaces
4 Exit signs remain lit
5 All lifts go to 1st storey / nearest floor and cannot operate
6 Reset lift panel for lifts to normal operate on emergency generator power
7 Gas leak detector sound off to main alarm panel or gas detection panel located in Security/FCC
8 No general building fire alarm

Test No. 8 - Power Failure, fire alarm signal to 1st storey lobby and alternative floor homing

3 Emergency lights come on in all spaces
 4 Exit signs remain lit
5 All lifts go to 1st storey / nearest floor and cannot operate
6 Reset lift panel for lifts to normal operate on emergency generator power
7 Set off smoke detector in ground floor lift lobby.
8 All lifts to home to 2nd storey and cannot operate.
9 Firemen lift switch turned on. Firemen lift can be used now.
10 Firemen lift intercom can be used to speak to Telephone Operator
11 Public announcement in two languages (local language and English) to evacuate building and guestroom
12 Background music cut-off upon fire alarm signal
13 Fire alarm bells go off. Visual alarm goes off.
14 Staircase pressurisation fan operate, smoke control system operate.
15 All EM locks unlock

Test No. 9 - Firemen lift operation sequence

S/N Description
1 Firemen lift switch turned on. Lift in firemen mode. Doors remain open

2 To close lift door, user to press and Hold close door button all the time. Until fully close, then release button. Lift door remain closed.
3 If short press, door will stop closing and go back to open mode
4 Press Lift storey (example. 10th Floor). Lift goes up and reach the floor. Doors remain closed

5 To open lift door, press and hold open door button all the time . Until fully open, then release button. Lift door remain open.
6 If short press, door will stop opening and go back to closed mode

Test No. 10 - Lifts Automatic Rescue Device (ARD)

S/N Description
1 While lift is moving up/down, cut-off ALL power to lift
2 Lift Automatic Rescue Device cut in and bring lift to nearest floor
3 Lift doors open and cannot operate
4 Normal / generator power cut in
5 Reset lift supervisory panel. Lift to operate normally

Notes

Staircase pressurisation system only required for buildings more than 25m in height. Where provided, the system shall meet
following requirements
(a) Pressure difference with corridor achieve 50 Pa when all doors closed
(b) 1 m/s air velocity for 3 number of open door
1 (c) Door opening force not more than 110 N when all doors closed

2 Firemen lift only required for buildings more than 25m in height. Where provided, there shall be a firemen switch at first storey.
3 Guestroom smoke detector sounder base to achieve 75dBA sound level at bedhead
4 Guestroom announcement speaker to achieve 75dBA sound level at bedhead. 65dBA all other areas

Test reports shall be made available prior to site inspection

- Sound level measured at all guestroom bedhead for evacuation announcement speaker
- Sound level measured for smoke detector sounder base measured at all guestroom bedhead
5 - Staircase pressurisation test reports
6 Emergency lighting at 1 lux minimum
7 Building Management System (BMS) to send fire alarm address to mobile phone of engineer
8 Fire alarm system and repeater panel to be programmed to show actual address/location of activation
9 For the 3 minutes delay in fire alarm, main alarm panel shall be able to override and activate general fire alarm.
10 Provide burst test sprinkler point for wet sprinkler and pre-action system
