INTERNATIONAL
CONFERENCE
In today's interconnected world, the significance of global business and socio-
economic development cannot be overstated. Drawing wisdom from the Quran &
Hadith, we find timeless guidance advocating for justice, fairness, and ethical conduct
in all endeavors. As the world witnesses unprecedented globalization, the teachings of
Islam underscore the importance of embracing diversity, fostering cooperation, and
seeking mutual prosperity across borders. Through principles of trade, charity, and
accountability, Islam encourages the pursuit of economic growth that uplifts
communities and fosters equitable opportunities for all.
The Muslim scholars who dominated the knowledge industry of the medieval period
inspired directly & later on indirectly from the Prophets themselves and their immediate
companions respectively. They developed on the foundation which the holy Prophets
gave them through primarily the Holy Books as well as Hadith, to understand the world
properly and to find scientific solutions to perennial and sporadic issues of the world.
The concept of Leadership has been a topic of discussions since ancient times. Greek
philosophers, Plato and Aristotle believed that the fate of a society heavily relies on the
wisdom of the philosophers & leaders who can navigate the people in a specific
direction. In modern democracies, there is a debate on what matters the most, i.e. the
persona or the structure under which the philosophers & leader works. The persona
factor dominates in the society where structure is nearly absent or is in an embryonic
stage. In particular, pre-modern societies extensively depended on the philosophers &
leaders’ capacity to determine the direction of the polity. Plato’s ideal leader, the
philosopher king’ exemplifies this by combining leadership skills with the wisdom of
multidisciplinary knowledge.
Against this backdrop, Aligarh Muslim University’s Centre of Professional Courses (CPC)
in collaboration with Faculty & Department of Commerce is organizing a one day
hybrid International Conference on May 25, 2024, titled “Global Business & Socio -
Economic Development in 21st Century: Teachings of the Holy Prophets & Other World
Philosophers”. The conference aims at creating a platform of discussions for
academicians, scholars, journalists and researchers to deliberate upon the
contributions of the Holy Prophets and other world leaders & philosophers like
Mahatama Gautama Buddha, US President Abraham Lincoln, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar,
Mahatama Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi etc in different disciplines. Our focal point
shall be the modern application of prophetic knowledge, the history of its development
and its impact on different societies across the globe. Contributions made by other
world philosophers & leaders as mentioned above shall also be the part of discussions.
