1. What is the basis of blood groups? What are agglutinins?


2. Historically, people with Type AB blood were called universal recipients. What is
the rationale for the term?
3. Explain why Rh(-) person does not have a transfusion reaction to the first
exposure to Rh(+) blood. Why is there a transfusion reaction the second time he
or she receives the Rh(+) blood?
