WATER

POLLUTION
TALLER DE ARTE
¿WHAT IS IT¡?
Accumulation of one or more substances foreign to water
that can generate a large number of consequences,
including imbalance in the life of living beings
CAUSE AND EFFECT
Agricultural runoff introduces harmful pollutants into water
sources, if agricultural runoff occurs, water sources will become
contaminated.

Oil spills in oceans pose a significant threat to marine ecosystems, if

oil spills happen, marine ecosystems will suffer severe
consequences.
Anier Carvajal
If we continue to neglect the proper disposal of waste and
chemicals into our waterways, we risk contaminating the water
supply, which could lead to devastating consequences for both
human health and the environment.

If industries and individuals start implementing better waste

management practices, we can prevent further pollution of our
water sources and safeguard the health of future generations.

Isabella Piña
Contamination of the food chain. Fishing in contaminated waters, as
well as the use of wastewater in livestock farming and agriculture,
can transmit toxins to food that harm our health through ingestion,
if you fish in contaminated waters, you will transmit toxins to food
and affect our health.

Diseases. The WHO estimates that some 2 billion people drink

drinking water contaminated by excrement, exposing themselves to
diseases such as cholera, hepatitis A and dysentery, if you drink
contaminated water, you will contract diseases such as cholera,
hepatitis A and dysentery..

Carlo Andre
If pollutants enter water sources, they contaminate the water and
harm aquatic life.

If industries do not properly treat their wastewater, water pollution

levels increase significantly.

Inna Chequer
In 2017 was the first time, plastic occupied the top 10 places for
collected objects, leaving glass bottles off the list, if you throw
garbage on the sea, you will increase the risk of deseases, like
respiratory infections, lung cancer, heart disease.

For all these reasons, it is estimated that it could be responsable

for around 265,000 premature deaths worldwide (2020). That is,
0.5% of global mortality would be associated with its emissions, if
we keep going contaminated this, we will waste the entire world and
the ecosystem

Angel Gonzalez
If we do not reduce greenhouse gas emissions, climate change will
intensify.

If industries adopt cleaner technologies, air pollution will decrease.
