RITA LEVI
She was born in Italy in 1909. At the age of
20, she asked her father to develop a
professional career, and entered the
University of Turin.

Mussolini's fascist laws, however, limited her

continuity at the university, but this did not
prevent her from continuing to research in the
field of medicine, specifically, nerves. She
made a shocking discovery: nerve growth
factor, a key protein of the nervous system
and a determinant in processes such as
cancer and Alzheimer's.

She received the Nobel Prize in Medicine in

1986.

Marie Curie, who was born in 1867, was a pioneering scientist known
for her groundbreaking work in radioactivity, She was the first woman
to win a Nobel Prize and the only person to win Nobel Prizes in two
different scientific fields.

Curie's research on radioactivity revolutionized our understanding of

physics and chemistry, leading to advancements in medicine,
industry, and energy. Her discoveries laid the groundwork for
technologies like X-rays, crucial in medical diagnosis.

Despite facing discrimination, Curie's dedication and perseverance

drove her to success. Her legacy continues to inspire scientists
