I. Goal Setting – Personal Reflection

Based on the discussions in the class, what do you think is the importance of goal setting
as future marine officer and leader?

To prioritize your purpose and mission about your future, it helps us to trigger our
behaviors, it challenge us to be better, and produces directions towards future.

II. Short Team Goals

Instructions: While answering the below items, look at yourself holistically. Considers
your academics, character and leadership, fitness, life skills, etc in setting your goals.

What do you want to achieve this Academic Trimester? Why? (Site at least 3)
GOAL Reason/Remarks
Be productive always I am currently improving my productivity by
eliminating my extra-curricular activities and prioritize
my school works.
Time management I am always passing my assessments ahead of time
to avoid late submission
Communication skills specially I want to be more fluent when it comes to speaking in
in English English.

What do you want to achieve this Academic Year or August 2022? Why? (Site at least

GOAL Reason/Remarks
To be physically fit I want to help my body by means of exercising every
day.
Wide vocabulary I want to help my IQ to remember other vocabulary
words.
Buy books To read at my free time.

What are your reflections/insights as you write your short-term goals?

It is important that you have short goal settings to ensure that your purpose and mission
in life is successfully achieve. Even if in a short span, you are preparing for your self-
encouragement for the future.

Having an investment To ensure my emergency fund
To have a safe voyage onboard Keeping yourself safe is a topmost priority onboard
Develop my English Vocabulary For me to be able to communicate fluently to other

Business Even if I am onboard, I still have an income offshore.
Knowledge at Music I still have hobbies if boredom strikes.
House This is where I live if I disembark.

Never stop learning in about life Because learning never stops until the end of your
life.
Clear conscience Having no regrets in life is considered as self-
actualization.
Financially stable Having enough money to provide my family needs.

What are your reflections/insights as you write your long-term goals?

Writing long-term goals is very important because you are challenging yourself to
achieve your desired goals and you are eager to learn even if you fail you are not giving
up easily. While writing my long term goals, I felt that I will achieve it, even if this will take
10-20 years. Still it is a life goal, because goal never stops until you achieve it.
