I can say that these 3 assessments are useful because these are integral part ofinstruction, as it
determines whether or not the goals of education are beingmet. Assessment affects decisions
about grades, placements, advancement, instructionalneeds, curriculumand in some cases,
funding.

Performance Task 2
Interview your Cooperating Teacher or any teacher and ask the
following questions 1. Why is there a need to monitor and evaluate
learners’ progress?
It is important to monitor and evaluate learners progress because it will help the students to do
better in class based on their progress. Monitoring their progress help them to strive hard on
what to improve because it will show them where is the area, they are weak and strength. It is
also important that teacher will do assessment feedback(evaluation) to his/her students because it
gives them an opportunity to work and reflect on the progress.

2. What strategies are used to communicate learners’ needs, progress and

achievement?
Collaboration strategies, it is collaboration with the parents, community and teachers. They
conducted meeting with the parents to share information. For teachers they do rotation in every
subject which she said this is quite effective where teachers share information about their
students’ progress sothat all the teachers in a grade level share ownership of every
child’seducation. Other strategies are to do Formative Assessment and DataAnalysis, to check
the progress of the students through individual teachers report where they provide consistent
insight to students’progress.

3. What assessment data are used to improve student performance?

The common assessment data that was used in school are exam, concept map and concept test. It
will encourage teachers in the school to do oral presentation, portfolio, written reports and peer
review to the students. Teachers should be knowledgeable enough to make class interactive by
using learning material in most creative way to improve learning and performance. These are one
o fways they do to improve students’performance and in order to evaluate student performance,
the teacher need to be clear and make rubrics based on learning goals and performances.
