● a direct and systematic observation of the actual performance of students based on the
predetermined criteria.
● where teachers observe and make a judgment about the student demonstration of a skill
or competency in creating a product, constructing a response or making a presentation.
● It emphasizes the students ability to perform tasks by producing their own work with
their knowledge
Product
● is a tangible creation by a student, it could take the form of a poster, drawing, invention
etc.
● it refers to something produced with students providing concrete examples of the
application of knowledge.
● so it means that a product is something that can be seen, touched and assessed.
Lesson Proper
REMEMBER:
● So remember that product oriented performance based assessment focuses on the product
only and not on the process.
● And when we are designing our product based test we must consider the competencies
that need to be addressed and remember this competency while formulating your scoring
rubrics.
Example:
Desired Product: Make a scrapbook illustrating the historic events called EDSA 1.
● Contain pictures, newspaper clippings and other illustrations for the main character.
(Minimum or Beginner’s level)
● Contain remarks and captions for the illustrations made by the students himself for the
roles played by the characters.
(Skilled level)
● It should be presentable, complete, informative and pleasing to the reader of the
scrapbook.
(Expert level)
● Poem
Rules:
● It should have 4 verses and 4 stanzas
● All poems must have a title.
● It must contain any of the topics discussed by the reporter.
