STATE : CHHATTISGARH DISTRICT : Akaltara, CHHATTISGARH NATURE OF INFORMATION : FREEDOM FIGHTER PEOPLE AND PERSONALITY: Mushtaque Hussain was a COMERADE MUSHTAQUE HUSSAIN born on July,1919 in Akaltara district of Chhattisgarh. He was a fighter from Akaltara. His intellectual and personal growth were greatly influenced by his educational journey, which began in Akaltara and later led him to Raipur. Furthermore, his graduation from Morris College in Nagpur played a significant role in shaping his understanding and determination. Mushtaque’s impactful presence extended beyond his fight for freedom, he also strongly advocated for equality, consistently opposing any form of divisive politics and communal ideologies. His concerns about the rise of organization such as the RSS were deeply rooted in his conviction that their ascendancy would bring disastrous consequences upon the nation. Being a follower of the communist ideology, he had a visionary perspective of a society where exploitation and conflicts among people would cease to exit. This noble objective himself wholeheartedly to achieving it. In line with his beliefs, he led a humble lifestyle, completely detached from material possessions. His selflessness also extended to his personal life, as he chose not to marry in order to concentrate all his efforts on improving the lives of the destitute and neglected members of society. Although Mushtaque was deeply committed to a purpose that transcended his own individual aspirations, his private persona remained hidden from numerous individuals. He fearlessly reached out for support whenever necessary, even though he possessed only a limited number of clothing items, which he willingly offered to those who were deprived and lacking. Mushtaque’s unwavering dedication and tireless efforts in Bilaspur, particularly among the railway workers, demonstrated his unwavering commitment to the cause he believed in. Throughout his illness, he received support from P.S. Karunakaran, which further highlighted his indomitable spirit and strong sense of responsibility, leaving a profound impact on those who had the priviledge of knowing him. Mushtaque was not just a leader, but he held a special place in the hearts of many as an exemplary figure to follow. He was not only a mere guide but also a profound source of inspiration, constantly igniting the flames of ambition within those who looked up to him. Moreover, his insightful and astute approach to journalism went beyond merely informing, as it nourished intellectual growth and stimulated contemptation, encouraging individuals to take action and make a difference in the world. Mushtaque’s departure has resulted in the creation of a significant impact, leaving behind a rich and enduring legacy of selfless dedication and devotion.
