Dear Parent,
Greetings from Private International English School, Abu Dhabi!
In our continuous effort to nurture a love for reading among our students, we are
thrilled to share that our school library has facilitated book borrowing for a
remarkable 7850 students to date. To further enrich our reading culture, we are
excited to introduce the DEAR Activity (Drop Everything And Read) as a regular
part of our school schedule.
Commencing from 8:00 AM to 8:15 AM every Wednesday of the last week of each
month, this activity aims to encourage active participation from both students and
staff. We kindly urge everyone to prioritize DEAR time by bringing a book from
home or borrowing one from the library beforehand.
Furthermore, we invite students to share their literary experiences by submitting
book recommendations on an A4 sheet to the library by the end of the same day.
We firmly believe that this initiative will significantly contribute to cultivating a
positive reading culture within our school.
