5. SKILLS
What are your major skills and behavioral characteristics that can be assets to the
post you have applied for?
Analytical Skills gained in using, developing, and formulating the Monitoring and
Evaluation Framework helped me to analyze financial data, assess risks, and make
informed decisions by using problem analysis, objective analysis, risk analysis, and
analyzing key indicators for projects. Using this framework I track the sales,
revenue, risks, and assumptions associated with the Nsambya organic market.

Problem-solving skills, after attending the Organic and Climate Smart Agriculture
Conference, Gender and Equity Training, and Innovation Workshop demonstrate
my proactive approach to understanding the needs of different communities.
Through the guidance of experts, I am implementing the “Know Your Food
Campaign” innovation with NOGAMU under the Early Career Graduate program
with USAID Institutional System Strengthening Activity as a way to food safety for
everyone after identifying that many Ugandans consume unhealthy diets which put
their lives at health risk of getting food-borne diseases.

Attention to Detail and Accuracy skills, developing and utilizing survey

questionnaires (The NOGAMU 2023 organic week expo survey) shows attention to
detail in gathering accurate data. The data was analyzed using Stata and Excel for
data cleaning and information obtained from this survey was presented to the
board for easy planning of the future like the coming 2024 Organic Week.

Teamwork and Interpersonal Skills, Mobilizing communities for business training

at Living Business Education Ltd showcases my ability to collaborate effectively
with diverse groups (teamwork). Collaborating with community leaders, especially
refugee communities and traders in Kampala for business training to address
knowledge gaps in record keeping, money handling rules, and resource
mobilization for starting a business fostered a collaborative environment
(interpersonal skills).

Communication skills (written and verbal). Developing training materials like
small business curricula to follow when guiding traders and communities when
starting a small business when I was at Living Business Education Ltd demonstrates
my strong written communication skills in creating clear and concise learning
materials. Delivering training sessions highlights my ability to communicate
complex financial concepts clearly and engagingly. Presenting innovation concepts
to the Makerere expert’s team, and USAID ISS Activity team under the Early Career
Graduate program showing my ability to speak well in public.

Innovativeness skills, I Successfully introduced online training sessions through

platforms like Google, Twitter, and Zoom to showcase how relevant I was at Living
Business Education Ltd in enabling continuous learning and flexibility in spreading
the basic knowledge of business management to Ugandans. This shows innovative
thinking in finding new ways to reach a wider audience and cater to working
professionals.

Transparency, I was able to report and present information learned and acquired
from meetings like the Business Forum, National Biogas Stakeholders Workshop,
and the advocacy for practitioners meeting objectively and transparently.

Continuous Learning, Attending training on gender and equity a critical gender

analysis and inclusion in project development, attending the climate smart
agriculture conference demonstrate my commitment to inclusivity and ethical
treatment of all individuals, further solidifying my readiness to adapt and learn fast
in a diverse environment.

Integrity involves honesty and accuracy when reporting, using the customer
satisfaction survey tool at NOGAMU to collect data from participants in the 2023
organic week and the Harvest Money expo, I was able to report this information
accurately without fear or favor.

Client Relationship Management skills, designed and delivered training programs

specifically tailored to the needs of diverse communities (refugees and business
owners). This demonstrates my ability to understand client needs and customize
solutions, a crucial aspect of client relationship management that can be applied to
this role.

Flexibility. Adapting course content based on feedback showcases my willingness
to listen to feedback and adjust my approach to better serve the audience. This is a
key aspect of customer service – being flexible and responsive to client needs.
