Sports Day isn’t just about promoting awareness about the paramount importance of sports in all

spheres of life but also an excellent way to satisfy people who are seeking the thrill of showing their
talent. Feeling the adrenaline rush that provides you with the sense of being alive, when everyone in
the stand is cheering you on, with your heart beating fiercely, and every breath that brings you
closer to winning, is a feeling unparalleled. Nevertheless, Bloomfield’s annual Sports Day helps pupils
build self-confidence whilst improving teamwork and interpersonal skills. Furthermore, it reinforces
the lesson of discipline and teaches the values of dedication and patience.

Students made their way to Hayatabad Sports Complex on the 10th of March, 2022 to perfect their
performances and rehearse one last time before the final act. Teams participated in enthralling
matches of football and cricket, showcasing their passion, skill and drive.

When the big day arrived on Friday the 11th, everyone was ready to put on a spectacular exhibit of
school spirit and enthusiasm in front of crowds of cheering parents. Additionally, each grade had
been assigned specific colored sweaters and trousers to boost the overall sports zeal. Whether it was
acrobatics by making an awesome human pyramid, creating flowers out of sheets of cloth with
precision and team-work or simply synchronized dancing, each performance was executed
flawlessly. And let’s not forget the ceremonial march with each class’ marshal hoisting the flag up
high and leading the procession, ending with the national anthem. Moreover, there were
competitions for the juniors like dribbling around the cone and spoon races while seniors enjoyed a
gruelling game of tug of war. Our very own Pakistani martial arts, Pakeedo, under the banner of its
esteemed creator, Sir Ahmed Hussain, was also well in display for all to see.

All in all, Sports Day never fails to lift student morale and provides a much needed break from the
heavy workload of being a student at BHS. Looking forward to a bigger and better Sports Day next
year!
