WHO REGULATES US

OUR SERVICES
We will act for you when we establish your insurance requirements, when we match your needs to available products, and
when we provide the key features of a policy, but you will not receive advice from us. We may ask some questions to narrow
down the selection of products that we will provide details on. You will then need to make your own choice about how to
proceed. We will be acting as an agent of the insurer when we administer the policy/policies.
As a distributor of insurance, we also receive commission from the insurer which is a percentage of the total premium for the
policy/policies. In addition, Home and Landlord insurers provide us with periodic incentives (such as bonus payments) if we
meet certain sales and/or profitability targets as well as an additional fee for marketing their products.
We are contractually bound to only offer products from: Arc Legal Assistance Limited (’Arc Legal’) for Home Emergency
and Legal Expenses covers sold with our Home Insurance products; and Arc Legal Assistance Limited (’Arc Legal’) for Tenants
Liability Insurance; and Arc Legal Assistance Limited (‘Arc Legal’) and Legal Insurance Management Ltd (‘LIM’) for Landlords
Emergency, Landlords Legal Expenses and Rent Protection covers sold with our Landlords Insurance products and for our
stand-alone Rent Protection product.
If you cannot settle your complaint with us, you may be entitled to refer it to the Financial Ombudsman Service.
We are covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS). You may be entitled to compensation from the scheme
if we cannot meet our obligations. This depends on the type of business and the circumstances of the claim. Further information

COSTS OF THE CREDIT

Before we can proceed with your loan we are required by law to provide you with some important information about the proposed
finance for your Tenant's Liability insurance. You should read this document carefully along with the Standard European Consumer
Credit Information (SECCI), which together make up the pre-contract information. You should also read the terms and conditions of
the credit agreement. Please do not proceed to sign the agreement until you have considered all of the information provided and
are content that you understand it and wish to proceed. The information is provided to help you consider whether our product is
suitable for you.
SUITABILITY
The agreement is a fixed term, restricted use arrangement meaning we will provide you with credit to purchase specific services.
You will not receive cash; instead when you sign the agreement the credit is used to pay for your annual Tenant's Liability policy.
REPAYMENTS
We will collect the first payment within one month after the date of the agreement followed by 11 further monthly payments on the
same day of each month by deducting the sum from the account that you have nominated and for which you have provided
direct debit details. You may, however, choose to repay all or part of your loan early at any time which will reduce the amount that
you have to repay.
CONSEQUENCES OF DEFAULT
Missing payments may also lead to your insurance cover being cancelled.
YOUR RIGHTS
You have the right to withdraw from the loan agreement before the end of 14 days beginning with the latest of; the day after the
day on which the loan agreement is made, or you are provided with an executed copy signed by both parties or, if information is
provided to you after the loan agreement is made, the day on which you receive a copy of that information as required by section
61A(3) of the Consumer Credit Act 1974.
Please note, if you exercise your right of withdrawal you must pay your insurance premium in full or your policy will lapse.

ABOUT YOUR AGREEMENT (CONT...)
Statement of account: You have the right to receive, on request, and free of charge, at any time
throughout the duration of the Loan Agreement pursuant to section 77B of the
Consumer Credit Act 1974, a statement (in the form of a table) showing:
a) the details of each instalment owing under this Loan Agreement;
b) the date on which each instalment is due, the amount and any conditions
relating to the payment of the instalment;
c) a breakdown of each instalment showing how much comprises:
(i) capital repayment;
(ii) interest payment; and
(iii) if applicable, any other charges.
Missing Payments Warning: Missing payments may lead to your insurance cover being cancelled.
Right of Withdrawal: You have the right to withdraw from this Loan Agreement before the end of 14 days
beginning with the latest of; the day after the day on which this Loan Agreement is
made, or you are provided with an executed copy signed by both parties or, if
information is provided to you after this Loan Agreement is made, the day on which
you receive a copy of that information as required by section 61A(3) of the
Consumer Credit Act 1974.
If you choose to exercise your right of withdrawal you must notify us of your intention
to do so, by:
(i) writing to us at Paymentshield Limited, Southport Business Park,
Wight Moss Way, Southport, PR8 4HQ;
(ii) telephoning us on 0345 6011 050;
(iii) emailing us at enquiries@paymentshield.co.uk.
When you give notice to us withdrawing from this Loan Agreement you must clearly
state your name and address and your request to withdraw from this Loan
Agreement.
If you do withdraw you must repay to us, no later than 30 calendar days after giving
notice of your withdrawal, any monies paid under the Loan Agreement.
If you do exercise your right to withdraw from this Loan Agreement you will need to
find alternative means to pay in full for the insurance policy paid for under this Loan
Agreement or there is a risk that the insurance policy may be cancelled.
Early Repayment: You are entitled at any time, by giving written or oral notice to the Creditor and
making payment to them by an agreed method to discharge your indebtedness
under this Loan Agreement in full or in part. You may keep your insurance policy in
force if you repay early by informing us that you wish to do so and sending the
payment required.
Ombudsman Scheme: You have the right to complain to the Financial Ombudsman Service ("FOS"); further
details can be found under section 5 of the Terms and Conditions of this
Loan Agreement.
Supervisory Authority: The Financial Conduct Authority, 25 The North Colonnade, Canary Wharf, London
E14 5HS is the supervisory authority under the Consumer Credit Act 1974.

1. YOUR OBLIGATIONS
1.1.2 if the account is a joint bank account, you have individual, full and unrestricted authority to nominate such
account for the purposes of these Terms and Conditions;
1.1.4 you will inform us immediately of any changes to your bank details or employment details, or of any other
changes in circumstances which may affect your ability to make payments under this Loan Agreement.
2. REPAYMENTS
2.1 On each Payment Date we shall make one attempt by direct debit to collect the amount due, as per the terms of this
Loan Agreement.
2.2 Where we cannot obtain the amount outstanding on any of the Payment Dates, we will make ahead of the next
collection date to understand why you have been unable to meet your repayment obligations. If you are suffering
financial hardship, we will exercise forbearance in agreeing how to remedy any arrears. We urge you to contact us
as soon as possible to explain any repayment difficulties and avoid incurring unnecessary charges.
2.3 You may change the date upon which your direct debit is collected during the Loan Agreement by notifying us of the
date that you would like payment to be collected.
3.1 If any of the following occurs then we may, after giving you notice in writing, end this Loan Agreement:
3.1.1 you provide any inaccurate or misleading information or you fail to disclose any matter which would have
affected our decision to enter into this Loan Agreement;
3.1.2 you do not make any payment on its due date or you cancel your direct debit instruction;
4.1 In considering whether to enter into this Loan Agreement, we may search your record at Credit Reference Agencies
("CRAs") or Fraud Prevention Agencies ("FPAs") They will add details of our search and your application to their records
about you. We may also advise CRAs/FPAs of your agreement(s) with us, your payment record and any default. These
records will be shared with other organisations and may be used and searched by us.
4.2 If you require details of the CRAs or other agencies from whom we obtain, and whom we pass, information about you, or
you have any other query relating to your data, arising from this Loan Agreement please write to: Data Protection Officer,

5. COMPLAINTS
5.1 If you have a complaint, please inform us, you can write to or email us and we will investigate your complaint. We will
attempt to both resolve your complaint through investigation and to respond to you with the outcome.
5.2 If you are not happy with our final response, you may have a right to have your complaint dealt with by the Financial
Ombudsman Service ("FOS"). To do so, you should contact FOS within 6 months of our final response to your complaint.

6. REGULATORY INFORMATION
6.1 Paymentshield Limited, is registered in England and Wales and our company number is 02728936.
6.2 We are licensed by the Financial Conduct Authority in accordance with the Consumer Credit Act 1974 for the conduct
of consumer credit business. Our FCA Firm reference Number is 312708.
6.3 We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office, registration number Z4890668.
7. GENERAL
7.1 Where two or more persons are named as Debtors each of those persons shall be jointly and severally liable for the
performance of the obligations of the debtor set out in this Loan Agreement and the expression "the Debtor" shall be
construed accordingly.
7.2 If we do not enforce our rights under this Loan Agreement at any time we will not be prevented from doing so later.
7.3 Any notice or demand we give will be assumed to have been properly given if served on you personally. It will also be
assumed as properly given if it is sent by prepaid envelope addressed to you at your current address or your last known
business or private address as well as by email to any email address you nominate for these purposes.
7.4 This Loan Agreement is personal to you and you may not pass the benefit of it to a third party. We may transfer or assign
all or any of our rights under this Loan Agreement without your consent but if we do so you will be informed of this.
7.5 This Loan Agreement shall be construed according to the laws of England and Wales whose courts shall be the exclusive
courts of jurisdiction over any claim or matter arising under or in connection with this Loan Agreement.
7.6 The contractual terms and conditions, and the prior information, are in English. We undertake, with your agreement, to
communicate with you in English during the duration of this Loan Agreement.
COVER OPTIONS
You can choose a qualification period that meets
your requirements. The options available are:
The insurer will not pay for the cost of replacing or repairing any undamaged items of the landlord’s property
of your home which forms part of a pair, set, suite or part of a common design
You must not undertake any repairs to the landlord’s property without the insurer’s prior written consent
You must provide the insurer with all information and evidence, including written estimates and proof of ownership and
value that the insurer may request
Where am I covered?
You must provide full and accurate information to all questions asked. Your answers must be true to the
best of your knowledge and belief. Your answers will form part of the statement of fact on which your
policy will be based. If you become aware that information you have given us is inaccurate or has
changed, you must inform us as soon as possible. Failure to do this may invalidate your policy and
claims may not be paid.
When and how do I pay?
The full amount to pay for your policy will be shown on your policy documents. You can pay for the policy by debit
card, credit card or annual or monthly Direct Debit. Please refer to your policy documentation for payment methods.
The policy lasts for 6 or 12 months. The dates of cover will be specified in the policy documentation .
