Management, and Internal Control

1. What are the main features of the corporate culture at Suspenders

plc?

At Suspenders plc, there are a few things we can observe about

how they operate as a company. First off, it seems like there's not much
teamwork or communication happening among the employees. When
a new person, Susan, joined, nobody took the time to include her in
their lunchtime routine. One significant aspect of their culture is that
they view employees more as tools for production than as people with
emotions. This is evident in the lack of personal items and the recent
firing of supervisors for a management mistake. Financial gain appears
to be a significant motivator for the company and senior management.
There are instances, like Dave negotiating a private commission, that
suggest personal financial interests come before company ethics.
Lastly, there's a lack of a proper system for reporting wrongdoing within
the company. The only person who tried to use the whistle blowing
hotline was escorted off the premises by security and never returned.
This suggests that the company doesn't take well to criticism or actions
outside of what they consider the norm.

2. What impact does this culture have on employees like Susan and
Maureen?

Working in a company like Suspenders plc can be tough for

employees like Susan and Maureen. The culture there, with constant
blaming and pressure, can make them feel less confident and hinder
their ability to do well in their jobs. Staying in this company may hinder
their personal growth and limit their value as professionals.

3. Does the culture and climate of the company need to be changed

and if so how could this be achieved?

To make the company better, they need to:

 Create rules that focus on what's good for the employees.

 Clear up any rumors about the bosses being mean and instead, let
employees share their thoughts.
 Make it easy for employees to report problems without fear.
