Write-up based on teaching experience of DepEd’s key policy regarding ICT integration (Kubota,
Yamamoto and Morioka, 2018)

1. Technology must be studied as a separate subject, and then applied to other learning areas as a
tool for learning how to learn.

 Seminars of ICT integration have been facilitated by DepEd entitled as VINSET and
VINSET 2.0. The conduct of VINSET is one way of retooling teachers’ capacity in coping
with the new normal needs for continuous learning by applying all the different
modality platforms away from the traditional face-to-face tradition in the old system.
This outlines the new format in online activity lesson among learners through
synchronous (Microsoft team, Google meet, Zoom), asynchronous (Module, TV viewing,
Radio Listening) and diachronous learning (Facebook, You Tube, ETULAY tutorial
sessions).

2. Teaching-learning must not be textbook-driven but should include the application of ICT,
whenever appropriate.

 In the past, before I become a public-school teacher I am once a technology trainer at

Sisters of Mary School Adlas Inc. there, aside from textbook as a reference in teaching
electrical technology I am using a simulator app like fluid sim to show my students how
a certain circuits work. We also use PLC program for motor controls to fully automated
the system.

3. An education modernization program will equip schools with facilities, equipment, materials and
skills, and introduce new learning and delivery system, capitalizing on recent technological
developments.

 As a technology trainer in SOM before, the school have a partnership with other
technology institutions and company that helps the school for modernization as a part
of agreement. Some private institutions donate equipment’s that helps student to
acquire modern skills needed in progressive industries.
