Question: What Makes You Unique?

Why they're asking this: This question is essentially

what all the other questions above are meant to
determine. It's another general question that's often
difficult to answer. We are all unique, but it can be hard to
put into words exactly what separates you from other
people/applicants.
I am unique from the other applicants of this position
because for four years, I have been high-performing
and consistently been given awards at school. AI have
attended various seminars where I learned safety and
ensured that I followed all the task specifications in
our performance tasks. As a result, I gained
impressive grades.
Prove your leadership skills
Have you handled a team, a club or a project
that became successful?
What problems did you encounter as a team
that you are able to solve with a good decision?
How did you foster teamwork?
How do you delegate tasks?
What is your leadership style?
Best Decision
The best decision I have made is that last year, I
noticed that I was not able to meet all the deadlines on
time. I got so tied up with extra-curricular activities. So I
really checked on the areas that we needed to work on to
perform better then I discussed this with the team. My
fellow students understood it. I delegated my tasks for
awhile until I was able to catch up and had high grades
again.
Teamwork
I fostered teamwork by encouraging all the
members in our group to work on our tasks. I
also set a good example of doing my assigned
tasks and collaborate with those who are having
a hard time to get things done together.
What is your leadership Style?
authoritarian or autocratic - the leader tells his or her teammates what
to do and how to do it, without getting their advice

participative or democratic - the leader includes one or more

teammates in the decision making process, but the leader normally
maintains the final decision making authority

delegative or laissez-fair (free-rein) - the leader allows the teammates

to make the decisions, however, the leader is still responsible for the
decisions that are made
My leadership style is democratic or
participative style. I solicit the team’s opinions
on how we can work better and how we can
reach our goals. I value their contributions and
keep an open communication to foster
professional relationship and to solve issues
faster before they get worse.
What are your strengths and weaknesses?
My greatest strength is my aircraft maintenance
skill. I stick to the job specifications, analyze them
well and ensure that I base all my actions through
these specifications. I ensure safety standards
which was clearly emphasized and imposed at
PATTS College of Aeronautics.
What are your strengths and weaknesses?
My greatest strength is my motivational skills. My
team is not perfect, we have our own issues to deal
with but we always reach our goals because my
agents feel that we work together and I can
motivate them well even if they are having
difficulty. I share my knowledge with them through
the presentations so they will be more inspired to
learn.
My greatest weakness is being competitive
because I feel that I am not satisfied until I reach
my goals. Sometimes, this can make me a
perfectionist. However, I tried to deal with this
by collaborating more with my colleagues to
enjoy more.
How did you handle stress as a student? When I was
a student, I learned how to prioritize workload,
starting from the most urgent. Then, I managed my
time well so I did not cram for deadlines. And
because of this, I had good grades
How do you see yourself in this institution?

Five years from now, I see myself still working and

excelling in this institution. I still want to get promoted
to a higher position and would like to be assigned
offshore, too.
Personality Questions
1. Have you experienced burnout?
I also feel burnout like most people. But I
found a way to deal with it. I sit quietly in a
coffee shop then drink coffee to clear up my
mind. After that I walk around then I will
already feel better.
How conflicts should be resolved in a peaceful
manner? I talk with both sides and listen well to
the issues. I help the people involved to realize
the issues well and plan out a solution to resolve
the issue. And most of all, I establish an open
dialogue to ensure that my team can resolve
issues before they get worse.
What irritates you the most? One thing that irritates
me is being unprofessional especially when someone
is not doing his job. So what I do is that I talk to this
person, like an agent, then discuss how a task can be
finished on time.
Have you ever encountered a difficult team
member? Yes, of course, but as a leader for
several years, I learned to accept differences. I
learned how to deal with different personalities so
I am okay with everyone.
How do people describe you?
Most of my friends describe me as (1) brilliant
because I often lead them in our projects and get
good grades ordo the tasks done. (2) optimistic
because they say that I can make things work even
in hard situations and avoid negatives thoughts to
set in if I'm having a hard time. (3) motivating
because my friends say that I inspire them to
achieve and perform better..
Personality Questions
1. Are you easy to talk to?
Yes. People always compliment me for being
approachable. In fact I am the one who reaches out
to others.
2. What are your pastimes/hobbies? I love walking
around in different places. Walking for two hours
makes me feel relaxed and energetic.
Personality Questions
I also rant because it is also helpful to release the
stressful feeling. But I usually rant in the presence of my
friends so I will not be unfair to others and my friends
will also understand and won’t judge me for anything I
will say.
