METHODOLOGY

1. Research participant

The author's intention was to focus the study on a group of sophomores at Ho Chi Minh City
Open University who were majoring in both English and other subjects. These students are a
group of 20-year-old youths regardless of gender.

The author used a simple method of random sampling to select students for the study. The
sample size was determined by selecting 75 second-year students from Ho Chi Minh City
Open University. The author chose this template due to practical considerations such as time
and financial limitations. Personal information and opinions of participants will be kept
strictly secret.

2. Research instrument

The authors utilized a quantitative technique to collect data in this study, and this design was
acquired using a questionnaire, which is regarded as one of the most acceptable and
dependable instruments for providing us with genuine data.

The Google form comprises fifteen questions designed to elicit information about the
benefits, importance, and methods to improve listening skill through videos on YouTube
platform. Through short answer and multiple choice questions, participants share their
thoughts on this study approach. To make things easy for both the author and the students, the
author chose study subjects at random. The author has connected with students using social
media platforms such as Facebook, Messenger, Zalo, and Instagram. Furthermore, this study
should have been done through classroom observation to offer greater validity to the findings,
but we are unable to do so due to a multitude of factors, the most important of which are
limited resources and time.
